Good evening and a very warm welcome to the players,
coaching team and supporters of our visitors Yeovil Town
for this Somerset Premier Cup First Round tie. I don’t
think that Yeovil have visited Crown Fields for a
competitive match before, so tonight should be an
entertaining game.
Our committee would also like to welcome tonight’s
match officials, referee Adam Watson and his 2
assistants, Ian Harley & Dave Trevaskus.
It has been six weeks since our last First Team game
here at Crown Fields! I would also like to offer my
personal thanks to everyone at the club, from our
Chairman to the coaches, players and not least you, our supporters, for your
patience over the past few weeks as we sorted out the “bolt out of the blue” issue
regarding certification of our 3G pitch by FIFA.
This has led to several fixture rearrangements, which can be seen in our fixture list
later in the programme.
On the field, our last 2 away games have seen 2 very contrasting performances!
The less said about our 6-1 reverse at Shirehampton the better, but the lads more
than banished that from the memory with probably their best all-round
performance since we began our partnership with Total Pro Soccer, drawing 1-1
away to League leaders Portishead Town last week. We took what turned out to be
a short-lived lead with a glancing header from Riley Gifford-Hobbs, but more than
matched opponents whose weekly playing budget would rival those from a much
higher level!
So now that everything is back to normal, we have tonight’s intriguing Cup
encounter, which is quickly followed by the visit of Radstock Town this Friday (13 th
October) in the Toolstation Western League Division One – please note that this
game kicks off at the slightly later time of 20:00.
Don’t forget to keep up with all the Ks news via our social media channels!
As always, I thank you in anticipation of your support for our young team in the
weeks ahead!
Up the Ks!!
