League Review
Roman Glass St. George played out a 1-1 draw at Brimscombe & Thrupp on
Friday evening. Josh Williams netted for Saints in the 21 minute and Sam Folkes
st
replied for the home side.
A single goal from Alfie Presley settled the other Friday fixture in favour of Royal
Wootton Bassett Town at Fairford Town.
The leading two teams in the Premier Division continue to dominate the table after
boths sides recorded home wins on Saturday.
Leaders Malvern Town trounced lowly Chipping Sodbury Town 6-3, including
doubles from Joe Bates and Ben Hayes, and singles from David Reynolds and Lewis
Spurrer. Conor McCormack, George Neill and Josh Pandolfino kept Sodbury
interested.
Cribbs maintained their second spot and remain two points behind Malvern with
two games in hand with a 2-0 victory over fourth-placed Westfields thanks to a
goal in each half from Ross McErlain and Aysa Corrick.
Worcester Raiders in third place managed a narrow 2-1 home win against
Mangotsfield United with goals from Joe Billingham and Louis Monaghan. Jaydn
Crosbie responded for Mangos.
FA Vase survivors Corsham Town warmed up for their Fifth Round tie this coming
Saturday against South West Peninsula League club Brixham by winning 2-0 at
bottom of the table Tuffley Rovers with their goals coming from Oliver Pitt and
Niekell Plummer.
Hereford Pegasus kept their hopes of a top three finish alive by beating
Thornbury Town 3-1. On target for Pegasus were Carlo Moreira 2 and Cawley
Cox, whilst Jack Smith notched a consolation goal for Thornbury who remain in the
relegation zone.
Lydney Town boosted their own survival bid by taking all three points at home to
Bradford Town with a single goal from Tristan Murphy.
Shrivenham also needed just one goal to win at Hereford Lads Club scored by
Maru Roper.
Two goals from Tom Wynn-Davis and another by Josh Davis gave Wantage Town
a 3-1 victory at Longlevens for whom Shaun O’Connor pulled a goal back.
After gaining their first point of the season the previous week, Cirencester Town
Development pushed Abingdon United all the way before going down by the
odd goal in five. John Mills bagged a hat trick to earn al three points for the home
side, whilst Aiden James replied with a double for Ciren.
Shortwood United were 4-1 winners over FC Stratford thanks to a brace apiece
for Alex Bell and Jake Rhodes. Dan Atkins notched a consolation goal for the
visitors.
Jerzy Marszalek’s goal was enough to see Stonehouse Town take all the points
from their visit to Southam United.
Hartpury University remain in line for promotion to the Premier Division after a
1-1 draw at Long Crendon. Charlie Johnson gave the Students a first half lead but
Nathan Brownsword levelled for the hosts with twelve minutes left on the clock.
