P. 3
Good afternoon and a very warm welcome to the
players, coaching team and supporters of our local
rivals Cadbury Heath for this Toolstation Western
League Division One game.
Our committee would also like to welcome today’s
match officials, referee Kevin Slade and his 2
assistants, Martin Chown & Jack Clark.
After our previous 2 impressive victories over
Brislington and Hallen, the fates were against us last
Saturday when we hosted another neighbour in
Bitton.
The Ks were deservedly 2-1 ahead going into the last 20 minutes after a brace by
Joe Davis as his fine form continues. However an innocent clash near the touchline
resulted in a serious injury to Keith Kearney of Bitton, which was later diagnosed
as a dislocated knee. The medical staff, under guidance from the emergency
services by telephone, decided that it would not be wise to move him on to a
stretcher and off the field so that the game could continue. The ref gave it half an
hour, but with an ambulance still awaited and the freezing temperature, he had no
choice but to abandon the game.
Fortunately we understand that Keith’s operation was a success and hopefully he
will make a full recovery.
Next up for the Ks is the visit of Warminster Town on Saturday 27 January (3pm
th
kick-off).
Don’t forget to keep up with all the Ks news via our social media channels!
As always, thank you in anticipation of your continued support for the rest of the
season!
Up the Ks!!
