Welcome

Good evening and welcome to The Field.

We again extend a special warm welcome to the players, management and
supporters of Shirehampton for this Toolstation Western League Les
Phillips Cup Second Round fixture. We hope they enjoy their short stay with
us and have a safe journey home tonight.

We also offer our thanks to our Match Officials for today and hope they
enjoy the game.

Monday’s home draw with neighbours FC Bristol was another indication of
our improved form over the Festive Season. Ashley Knight’s brace earned
a well-deserved point against one of the league’s high-flyers. Unfortunately
our meeting with another promotion contender Oldland Abbotonians was
postponed on Saturday.

Tonight we meet Shirehampton who are enjoying a very good season to
date and we expect a tough test this afternoon. However, this is cup
football so League form counts for very little.

We thank you for your continued support and hope you will enjoy the
game, and, look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Once again, I wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2023 from
Almondsbury Football Club.
