Semi final v Bristol Union Fri 5 th Apr
Hard decision selecting my 16 players but after a team meeting the night before
we approached this game full of confidence and we got rid of the nerves warming
up. We began the game passing the ball around and controlling the game but wary
Union are no mugs, after 25 mins Corey Clarke crossed and Ben Allison cane flying
in with a bullet header from 10 yards to put us 1 up
At the back Nick Weeks, Riley Gregory, Mark Reid and Charlie Golder were in top
form and at the other end, Rhys O’Donovan tested the keeper on numerous
occasions and although we looked in control our keeper Tom Heague pulled off a
superb save to keep it 1 nil half time.
Second half subs on and this added James Ellis running at the defence which is
non-stop, then Robbie Allen knocked a through ball and Cody winker who was a
constant threat round the keeper for 20 yards out and struck the ball hard and low
to ease the nerves to make it 2 nil. Maddox Payne Robbie Allen and Ben Allison kept
things solid in midfield all game then on came the next subs Dillan Kerr ,Ben
Walters and Charlie Dumble and Lewis Coverdale kept the tempo high and pushing
them onto the back foot, with15 mins left Dillan Kerr struck a low shot bottom
corner making it 3 nil to the ‘Mouth.
We could have made it 5 nil Ben Walters squaring a ball from 10 yards and Dillan
who had another effort cleared off the line , Lewis Coverdale was a threat on the
wing so a good solid performance.
A Big thank you to all the support that came to support the boys from the club so
onto the final well done the boys proud of all of you perfect result up the ‘Mouth
see you all at the final hopefully bring the cup home FINAL 24th April at
Mangotsfield Ground.

A Team v Bedminster A Tue 9 Apr
A youthful Avonmouth A side lost 2-0 on Tuesday night to a strong Bedminster
team. A dominant display throughout the game by the A’s but lacked that final
finish. The A’s dominated most of the game playing some good football in the windy
conditions but went 1-0 down against the run of play by a rare mistake. The A’s
pushed for an equalizer late on only to go 2-0 down and lose the game in the dying
moments Many Positives from the game saw the A’s field 10 under 18 players in
squad They move onto Saturday’s game where they will look for 3 points.
