P. 3
Good afternoon all and welcome to the AJN
Stadium to the players ,officials and supporters of
Bridport FC for this bank holiday fixture. I also
extend that welcome to our match officials this
afternoon , referee Kevin Slade and assistants
Rececca Halford and Ian Lanning.
Our last two games have seen us lock horns in
back to back fixtures against early contenders
Shepton Mallet. I think I am right in saying that
Mallet had not conceded a league goal in the lead
up to meeting us here a week or so ago so to put
two quality goals past them on the night in an
entertaining battle was very satisfying. Sadly
having to play two thirds of the game with 10 men, after H was dismissed for a
debatable challenge , eventually took it's toll and we were unable to see the game
out having to settle for what many would see as a respectable point. It was great
to se so many people in the ground enjoying the game and to me really felt that
things were taking another step forward towards normality.
On Saturday we made the short trek trip back to Mallet on an early return visit. We
have come away with a point but again it probably and should have been 3.
Can I take this opportunity to welcome new signing Scott Gregory to the club who
has joined us from Westbury United. Scott is a towering centre back who is sure to
strengthen us in that department and has made a great impression since his arrival.
We have made a very satisfying and encouraging start to the season . A decent
tally of points on the board and have demonstrated that we can mix it with the best
in this league. Hats off to John and the lads. Make no mistake about it today will
be another tough test.
Enjoy the match!
