League Cup Final
Nottingham Forest lifted the League Cup for the
first time after they defeated Watford 3-2 after extra
time in the Final at the Pirelli Stadium. Watford got
off to a great start when Gemma Davison put them in front in the second minute, with Forest
getting back on level terms through Charlotte Greengrass just ahead of half time. Yasmin
Mosby then gave Forest the lead for the first time, seven minutes after the restart, and this
time it was Watford's turn to fight back and an equaliser from Poppy Wilson took the game
into extra time. Substitute Gianna Mitchell turned out to be the heroine for Forest as she
scored the winning goal with five minutes remaining.
       Reserves League Cup Final
Oxford Utd secured the League and Cup double but it took a penalty shootout to separate
themselves and West Bromwich Albion after the sides had battled out a 2-2 draw at the
Pirelli Stadium. Anais Harris-Beechers and Katie Sherwood scored for Oxford, with Albion
netting through Ellie McFarlane and Olivia Stubbs, before the U's triumphed 4-2 from the
       spot.
       Northern Premier Division
Whilst Nottingham Forest were involved in the League Cup Final, their two title rivals were
meeting each other in a critical match. In the end it was Wolverhampton Wanderers
who triumphed 2-1 over Burnley FC Women, meaning that a victory for Forest in their
last match of the season should see them crowned as Champions, due to a vastly superior
goal difference over Wolves, whilst the Clarets will now be relying on the top two to slip up.
After a goalless first half, Amber Hughes gave Wolves the lead two minutes after the restart
and following an equaliser from Georgia Marshall, Anna Morphet netted what turned out to
be the winner from the penalty spot, eighteen minutes from time.
Forest will be at home to Stoke City in their last match whilst Wolves travel to
Brighouse Town and Burnley take on Liverpool Feds.
Derby County are confirmed as finishing in fourth place following their 3-3 draw
against Huddersfield Town. Kira Rai and Amy Sims put Derby two ahead early on before
an own goal reduced the arrears, then Yasmin Mason and Brittany Sanderson both scored
after the break to turn the match around in Town's favour but they could not hold on,
Rebecca McGrother grabbing an equaliser for the Ewes in injury time.
West Bromwich Albion continue to finish the season well and are up to sixth place
following their 2-1 success away to Fylde Women. Lizzie Bennett-Steele and Abi Loydon
netted the goals for Albion, whilst the Coasters' consolation came from Faye McCoy.
Liverpool Feds meanwhile claimed their third win in four matches, beating Boldmere
St Michaels 5-2. Paige Cole netted twice for the Feds along with Ellie Stewart, Emma
Johnson and Katie Thomas whilst the Mikes, who are now certain to finish in the bottom
two, replied through Trina Greaves and Nikki Miles.
       Southern Premier Division
Watford put the disappointment of their League Cup Final defeat behind them and
emerged as 2-1 winners againts Oxford Utd in the top of the table clash at Vicarage Road
on Thursday night. The U's took a twelfth minute lead through Natasha Stephens, which they
took into the interval, but after the break, Watford levelled matters when Natasha Baptiste
fired in from the edge of the area and another long range strike by 17-year-old substitute
