President’s
Thoughts
This afternoon we welcome the Players, Officials and Supporters of Warminster
Town to Stockwood Lane for a Toolstation Western League Division 1 match.
We went into our last game full of confidence following two good wins and its safe
to say we were brought down to earth with a bump as we were well beaten and
unfortunately also let our discipline slip.
Today’s opponents are currently flying high and come to this game having not been
beaten since as long ago as October. They will obviously give us a stern test today
and its important that we compete with them and try and ruin their successful run.
Will has again been busy in the transfer market and we welcome Brad Skidmore
and Jayln Johnson to the squad to help our push upwards in the table. Welcome to
the Phones.
Covid is still prevalent with the Omicron variant still causing havoc but we are
beginning to see the shoots of ‘normality’ returning. Please use the hand sanitiser
units at our entrance and in the club and lets be sensible so that we can, perhaps
, actually finish this season.
Lets hope for a well contested contest today and whatever the score, let’s all enjoy
the game and remember to accept the Referee’s judgement whether we agree or
not, as with-out officials we could not play the game…
Come and visit me in the kitchen at half time for hot drinks and hot food and failing
that I hope to have a beer with you all at the end, hopefully with a ‘Phones win to
celebrate!
As we all say #Up the Phones
