Good evening and a very warm welcome on a chilly
night to the players, coaching team and supporters
of our local rivals Hallen for this Toolstation Western
League Division One game.
Our committee would also like to welcome today’s
match officials, referee Alex Begbie-Dilks and his 2
assistants, Ronaldo Butrus & Mark Vipond.
It has been disappointing to see our last 2 away
games at Bristol Telephones and Warminster Town
fall victim to our wonderful British weather, as the
lads are keen to follow up on their fantastic 2-0
derby win at home to Brislington on Boxing Day. In one of our best performances
of the season, we outplayed a physical team and secured a comfortable victory,
with goals from Jemar Thomas and Joe Davis.
For those of you who attended the Boxing Day game, you may recall that we were
collecting that afternoon on behalf of 2 fantastic local charities supported by our
club – the Jessie May Trust and Children’s Hospice South West. Your generous
support on the day raised over £130, meaning that overall the club has raised in
excess of £750 for these 2 worthy causes.
Tonight sees the start of a run of four successive home games for us, with more
th
local derbies on the horizon against Bitton this coming Saturday 13 January
(3:00pm kick-off) and Cadbury Heath on Saturday 20 January (3pm kick-off).
