Welcome ……

Good afternoon and welcome to Oaklands Park for this Toolstation Western
League Division One home fixture. We extend a special warm welcome to
our visitors Bristol Telephones FC, their players, management and
supporters, and wish them a safe journey home after the game. We also
extend that welcome to our match officials.

Last Saturday we had the unusual experience of a home match being
cancelled! The referee considered the high winds made conditions
dangerous and unplayable and all in all it was difficult to argue with his
opinion. Previously we came out on top in a very tight game against Bishops
Lydeard. Only Omar Campbell’s goal could separate the teams at the end.
And then on Tuesday evening we travelled the short distance to Cribbs to
face their Reserves in the GFA Challenge Trophy - and came away with a
2-1 win which takes us into the semi-finals of the competition. A notable
achievement.

Our visitors today are Bristol Telephones FC who have not been enjoying a
successful season to date but we fully anticipate they will provide a stern
test for us this afternoon. Our meeting at Stockwood in November resulted
in a 2-0 victory for us and the game proved we shall need to be at our best
to get something out of the game.

We hope everyone enjoys the game and will come again to support us
throughout this historic season for Lebeq United Football Club.
