Today’s Game

Firstly, Cribbs FC would like to extend a very warm welcome to the
visiting players, team management, supporters and officials of
Shortwood United, together with the match officials for today’s FA Vase
match. We hope that you enjoy your short time with us.

       Match Reports
After a hectic August, September has been rather sparse in terms of
match action, seeing us play two matches so far.
The last match in August saw an inspired 3-0 win away to local rivals
Chipping Sodbury. Two goals from Steve Murray and the other from Ryan
Radford got us the three points after we played seventy minutes with 10
       men.
The beginning of September saw us take our first journey of the season
to Herefordshire where we took on Hereford Lads Club. The team
adapted well to the artificial surface at the Herefordshire FA and came
away with a 5-1 victory. The final goal of the match was a notable David
Duru strike, his first competitive goal for the 1st XI.
On 11 September we took a trip to Reading City in the precursor to
today’s game. We won, otherwise we wouldn’t be here today, but it was
a game not short of incident. Reading took the lead with a ‘Worldie’ of a
strike from the edge of the box, but this was cancelled out by Ryan
       Radford’s strike before the break.
Cribbs dominated the second period and should have taken the lead
straight after the break, Ali Boyer got his long legs in a tangle and
diverted the ball away from, rather than towards goal much to the
       amazement of many.
Ali didn’t have to worry for too long though as George Kellow won the
ball on halfway, burst forward and squared to Aki who scored with his
       first touch of the match.
After taking the lead things got a little fraught, but we held on to make
       the next round.

       This Afternoon’s Opponents
Our most recent encounters with Shortwood United have been in the
Toolstation Western League and the FA Vase.
We met three times in the season 2018/2019, winning an early season
       FA Vase encounter 5-1.
In the league encounters, we won 9 nil at home then enjoyed a
Christmas visit to Shortwood for a far more even one all draw.
Shortwood currently sit eleventh in the Hellenic League Division One.
Winning four of their ten matches so far.

As always, get behind the boys, it has been a little while!!!
