Introducing Westbury United A.F.C. Cont….

Joe Stradling – The fittest man ever to play non-league football. A speed machine who
will run all day. Played with a torn ligament in his tendon for 3 months last season just to
get us over the promotion line. Scored 11 goals and had 8 assists last season from his new
role in central midfield. Another great guy off the pitch, dry sense of humour, loads of one
liners and loves a glass of Merlot. Owns a roofing company and lives with his partner, Lauren.
Previous clubs include Larkhall, Bradford Town and Melksham Town. Newcastle fan.
Charlie Walton – The butcher. A new signing this season, a massive one for the club.
Charlie was wanted by a whole host of clubs so the fact that he decided to play his football
at Westbury this season is a real testament to where the club has progressed to. A proper
midfield player, powerful, scores goals, runs all day and will put his body on the line for the
team. A huge personality off the pitch, loves a beer with the lads and has settled into the
club straight away. We’re sure that he will be massive for us this season. Enjoys his
weekends way too much to be worrying about having a partner! Is a butcher by day, you’ve
got to be a certain type of person to do that job. Previous clubs include Bradford Town and
       Warminster Town.
Ashton Shanley – We signed Ashton from Corsham Town at the start of last season and
he made an immediate impact. Ashton contributed 21 assists last season and 4 vital goals.
Unbelievable quality on set pieces and with his range of passing but will also work as hard
as anyone else on the pitch. He’s become the joker in the squad after a man of the match
performance during last season’s tour. Also rivals Bole for the most miserable man on the
pitch. A hell of a bloke off the pitch, massive for the club in all areas. Hopefully we can get
him smiling this season! Lives in the west wing of the Shanley estate with his partner. Does
go to work sometimes, depending how heavy his weekend was! Previous clubs Bradford
Town, Warminster Town and Corsham Town. Bristol City fan.

Lewis Russell – Lewis is someone we have had our eye on for a while. Great lad and great
addition to the squad who signed from Welton Rovers
Brad Norris-Great signing and great lad. Brad has joined us from Larkhall and has the
Southern League experience that is so valuable.
Jasper Jones – Highly rated midfielder with an eye for goal. Jasper joined us from Corsham
Town and opened his account for the club against Corsham in the Wiltshire Shield

Harvey Flippance – What a guy this man is. Finally gave in and joined the club last season
after a long time chasing him and hasn’t looked back since. Finished as the clubs top scorer
       with 17 goals
after joining in December. Strong, tenacious, great touch and loves scoring goals. Harvey
has really come out of his shell off the pitch too, raves and bucket hats are his favourite
things. A great lad in the changing rooms and in the bar. Harvey is a born goal scorer and
along with a few other lads at the club will go on to do great things in non-league football.
Is a carpenter in the making in his day job. Previous clubs include Melksham Town, Calne
       Town and Pewsey Vale.
George Box-Joined us from Yate Town after spells at Bishop Cleeve and Bradford Town.
Great addition to the squad and certainly has an eye for goal and a real ‘Fox in the Box’
Ricky Hulbert – Non-league legend Ricky is joint manager and still does a great job up
front. A throwback to centre forwards of old who use their body well, work channels and
bring other strikers into the game with his clever work on and off the ball. Ricky lives with
Lorna and his daughter Bonnie and is an electrician by day. Although he spends more time
at the ground than he does at work. Previous clubs include Paulton Rovers, Larkhall, Frome
Town and Yate Town. Manchester United fan.
