WELCOME

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the South West Interiors Stadium for this
Southern League Premier Division South fixture versus Gosport Borough. We would like to
extend a very warm West Country welcome to our visitors today who have made the lengthy
trip from the south coast today. We hope Ben Kneller and his management team and squad,
the club officials and supporters enjoy their visit and have a safe journey home.

Already a month has gone by since John Rendell took over the reigns at Lodge Road and he
has completed six matches in that time. The team continue to grow in confidence under his
management and the new signings have settled in quickly adding strength in depth to the
squad. As John said in his notes mid-week we are still dealing with injuries and the the likes
of Ioan Richards, Khari Allen and Alex Lambert are all working hard to regain fitness. With
more than half the scheduled fixtures still to play it is important we have resilience from one
to eleven as we look to climb clear of the dreaded relegation zone.

With plenty of football on TV at the moment the obvious focus is the World Cup and
watching the home nations. If England finish in the top 2 of Group B they will begin the
knock out stages on either Saturday 3rd or Sunday 4th of December. If they are runners up
they will play the winners of Group A next Saturday with a 3pm KO. To avoid this clashing
with league fixtures the Southern League have brought forward all KO times to 12.30 pm.
As the Bluebells will be making the lengthy trip to Met Police the result is a 07.30 coach
       departure from the clubhouse.

And so to today’s visitors who we hosted in the final fixture of last season and who went
home with all three points and secured the league double over us. The Boro sit two places
above Yate just on the edge of the drop zone, however as we know a couple of good results
can very quickly elevate you a number of places and out of danger. Gosport Borough have
recently suffered an uncharacteristic poor run of form having last tasted league victory on
1st October against bottom club North Leigh. Following the departure of Shaun Gale on 9th
November Ben Kneller has taken over the reigns and so far in his brief tenure he has only
really led them in one league fixture. That was against top four club Chesham who they went
toe to toe with scores 2-2 until the Generals cruelly nicked the winner in the 90th minute.
Today like all Premier division matches will be tough.

       C’mon you #Bluebells…...
