Welcome to the Lancer Scott Stadum



         Good a ernoon, I would like to offer a warm
        welcome  to  you  all,  par cularly  to  the
        officials, players and supporters of Buckland
        Athle c for their first visit to Backwell. We
        hope you enjoy your  me with us and have a
        safe journey home.I think we will be all on 1 st
        name terms  with each other as we visited
        Buckland last Tuesday night, they were great
        hosts and they deserved all 3 points.
        It feels a long team since we were at home,
        bea ng  top  of  the  table  Tavistock.  The
        fixture list has done us no favours what so
        ever, every club knew we were all taking on
        a lot more travelling but for us to do 60% of it, 1400 miles, in the last 6 weeks of the
        season is crazy. Beech will tell you this made recruitment very challenging.
        The  transfer  deadline  passed  last  week  and  we  welcome  James  Batchelor  (Welton
        rovers) and Shea Bennington Mannings (Bristol Manor Farm) to the Lancer Sco . I hope
        you both enjoy your football with us and make a great impact in the remaining games.
        With 3 weeks of the season le  we s ll have quite a bit of travelling to do and I can
        confirm we will be running coaches to the following venues,  Millbrook 9  April ( quite

        Following our drama c penalty shoot out win over neighbour’s Clevedon Town, we
        have progressed to the quarter Finals of the Ted Phillips League cup where we visit
        Cadbury Heath this Tuesday, 5  April 7.30 kick off.

        We have 1 more home league game le , on Easter Friday, 15  April, 1pm KO, a tasty

        derby V Brislington.
        The Reserves are joint top in the Somerset County league, they have 6 games here, so
        please give them your support to help them get the promo on that eluded them in 2
        covid hit seasons.
