Norwich City have made a dashing run towards safety in recent weeks and on Sunday it
brought its reward with their best victory so far. Ellie Smith scored the only goal of the
game, and her first of the season, to give the Canaries a 1-0 victory over third placed AFC
Wimbledon which guarantees their safety.
Stevenage Women must wait after their place in the bottom four was confirmed
when they drew 2-2 with Queen's Park Rangers. Jodie Bellinger and Holly Greenwood
were both on target for Stevenage, whilst Rangers' strikes came from Brogan Moore and
Katie Akerman.

Town. The result came courtesy of a first half double from Priscilla Martins.
Division One South West
Cheltenham Town sewed up the title and promotion to the Southern Premier Division
when they beat Chesham Utd 3-1. Cheltenham went into the game needing a win to be
sure of being crowned Champions and any nerves were settled when Lacy-Jai Liggett
scored twice in five first half minutes to leave them two up at the interval. Chesham had a
good spell after the break and Dawne Campbell had a spectacular volleyed goal ruled out
for offside but minutes later, substitute Rhian Robbins wrapped up the points with the
third goal, before Kim Farrow grabbed a late consolation for the Clarets.
As it turned out, any result would have done on the day for Cheltenham as AFC
Bournemouth were beaten 5-0 by Exeter City. Connie Pengelly and Sarah Stacey each
scored twice for Exeter and Mollie Taylor weighed in with the other goal.
Southampton Women still have a mathematical chance of the runners-up spot,
which they kept alive by winning 2-0 at Portishead Town. A game of few chances was
settled by a second half double from Brittany Jeal.
On Tuesday night, Southampton Women kept themselves in the hunt for second
place as they won 4-0 at Poole Town. For the second match running, Brittany Jeal
netted a second half brace and she was joined on the scoresheet by Lucy Mear and
Hannah Samuels.
