Hellenic League Review…..
Bishops Cleeve opened a lead of nine points at the top of the Premier Division when they
pipped promotion rivals Corsham Town 1-0 but they needed the help of an own goal to
secure the three points.
Danny Gudger, Robbie James and Biagio Mazzotta were on target for Fairford Town in a
3-3 draw with Malvern Town at Cinder Lane. Malvern remain in second spot.
Tow of the promotion challengers met in Gloucestershire last weekend. Brimscombe &
Thrupp notched a 3-1 success over Bradford Town to stay in the hunt. Jack Bartman,
Harlie Price and Jonty Welch netted for the home side, whilst Charlie Wiles-Richards replied
for the Wiltshire Club.
Westfields moved up into fourth place with a comfortable 5-2 victory at relegation-
threatened Calne Town. On target for the visitors were Jamie Bird 2, Josh Hunt, Harrison
Iddles and Dan Stoneman. Jamie Walters and Derek Wheeler hit back for the hosts.
Bottom of the table Hallen picked up a point from a 1-1 draw at Shrivenham thanks to a
goal from Dawid Regula. Jonny Davoile was the marksman for the home side.
Ethan Dunbar hit a hat trick for Longlevens to secure a 4-2 win at Hereford Lads Club.
Rudi McKinnon completed the tally while Jamie Cuthbertson and Levi Ellis kept the home
side in the game.
Westbury United remain on the fringes of the promotion race after thumping lowly
Lydney Town 5-1 in the Forest of Dean. Dan Price 2, Jack Biddescombe, Harvey Flippance
and Joe Stradling were on target for United; Bradley Kear for Lydney.
Thornbury Town and Chipping Sodbury Town fought out a 3-3 draw at Mundy Playing
Fields. Aysa Corrick 2 and Jamal Simms appeared to have won the day for Sodbury but a
last-minute equalizer from Joe Guest salvaged a point for the home side. Marcus Wormwell
and Elliot Gardner netted Thornbury’s other goals.
Roman Glass St. George secured a comfortable passage into the next round of the GFA
Challenge Trophy, winning 5-2 at Gloucestershire County League Frampton United. Neikell
Plummer grabbed a hat trick, Shaquille Smith and Louis Ward one each.
The Hellenic League sole surviving representatives in the FA Vase, Royal Wootton Bassett
Town, bowed out of the competition in a 3-1 home defeat by Hamworthy United.
Kai Mahon struck twice for Worcester Raiders at Abingdon United to secure a 2-0 win
that takes them to the top of the First Division as previous leaders Cheltenham Saracens
did not play.
Studley scored a six-pointer success against Clanfield ‘85’, beating their fellow promotion
contenders 2-0 with strikes from Dan Carter and Jack Creswell.
Dan Elwell 2, Jade Ferron and Ricardo Richards were the marksmen for Littleton as they
ran out convincing 4-0 winners against Milton United.
Hereford Pegasus had a similar victory at Moreton Rangers with their goals coming
from Toby Wildig 2, Michael Burgess and Matthew James.
