Res not having a game, Redcar Athletic took the chance to move above them on goal
       difference after beating Poppleton 3-1 with goals from Charlotte Agar, Amy Smith and
       Amy McGovern. A win would have taken York St John University top but they were
       beaten 7-2 by Guisborough Town, who are a further two points adrift but have two
       games in hand on the teams above them. Ellie Todd netted twice for Guisborough along
       with Olivia Bullock, Mary Barnard, Charlotte Sellstrom, Emma Walton and Olivia Jeal.
       Ava Branton scored a hat-trick and she was joined on the scoresheet by Leann Quarmby
       and Lucy Lendhill.
       Sheffield & Hallamshire League
       After April’s mini-group games determined which teams would progress to the Cup and
       which to the Shield, the first round of group fixtures in the Cup and Shield before June’s
       knockout stages was held last Sunday.
             Kelsey Hallam and Beth Hardy gave Mosborough a winning start in the Cup
       Group  One,  2-1  at  home  to  Sheffield  Wednesday  Development  whose  goal  was  a
       penalty by Hannah Jackson. The group’s other game saw four goals equally shared with
       Jess Broadhurst and Holly Wright on target for hosts Rotherham Utd Whitehill with
       Holly  Brackenbury  and  Libby  Dunning  the  scorers  for  Wakefield  Trinity
       Development. Amber Cutting and Laura Ferguson scored for Mexborough Athletic
       who were narrowly beaten, 3-2 at home by Oughtibridge WMSC Res in Group Two
       where  Becky  Hargreaves  (2),  Cristina  Galvez  and  Helen  Kean  got  Socrates  off  to  a
       winning start, 4-2 against Handsworth Development whose replies came from Katie
       Jepson and Dani Pinder. In the three team Group Three, it was Dronfield Town who
       proved  far  too  strong  for  SJR  Worksop  Development,  registering  a  6-0  victory.
       Annabel  Davies  netted  twice,  with  Ruby  Burns,  Carly  Gill,  Miriam  Hawley  and  Kris
       Humble also on target. Barnsley FC Ladies are the other team in the group. Group Four
       is  also  a  three  team  group,  Sheffield  Wednesday  enjoyed  a  7-1  victory  over  AFC
       Bentley, while Wickersley Youth were the inactive team.
             Worsbrough Bridge Athletic were the highest scorers in the Shield with their
       6-0 Group One win at Dronfield Town Development coming from six different scorers
       in Ellie Cooper, Beth Goldthorpe, Nicole Hague (pen), Emily Hooson, Jo Marfleet and
       Rachel  Nosworthy.  Sheffield  Utd  Community  Foundation  had  a  home  walkover
       against Kiveton Park Development in the group’s other game. Penistone Church
       were 2-0 winners over Millstone in Group Two, the other game ending 2-1 to Sheffield
       Utd Community Foundation Res at home to Handsworth whose goal came from
       Sam Hallam. Staveley Miners Welfare had an away walkover against Bolsover Town
       in Group Three where Kiveton Park were the non-playing third team. Kristi Boyes, Nikki
       Burns, Megan Fletcher and Amy Glossop netted for Swallownest Swallows in their 4-0
       Group Four visit to Dearne & District. Eckington Belles are the third team in the group.
       Somerset League
       Bishop's Lydeard Development took the runners-up spot in Division Two behind title
       winners Stockwood Wanderers, after scoring eight times without reply past Porlock.
       Holly Miller led the scoring with four of the goals, along with doubles from Jade Brammall
       and Sarah Pearce. Zoe Armitage netted the only goal of the game for Wellington against
       Pen Mill Res.
             The final match of the season in Division Three saw Burnham Utd Res run out
       7-1  winners  over  Cheddar,  a  result  which  will  see  them  finish  as  runners-up.  Chloe
       Williams  was  on  target  five  times  and  the  others  came  frrom  Vanessa  Brill  and  Lucy
       Stephens, with Rosie Williams replying.
