End of Year Message
End o f Y e a r M e s s a g e
After losing two games in January due to the weather, we now find
ourselves with a busy period of matches over the coming weeks.
After last Saturday, tonight we welcome Hendon players and officials
to Lodge Road, the original game having been postponed in
December. We hope, after that wasted journey and more recently the
late cancellation of their game at Weston-Super-Mare last week, the
recent milder weather allows the game to go ahead as arranged
tonight!
Reflecting on Saturday’s game with Tiverton Town (result 0 – 0), it’s
one of frustration that we were unable to take all three points. The
one point we did achieve is welcome as we try to move up the
league, but we all know it’s wins that are required to really improve
our league position.
WELCOME
The game itself was a scrappy affair with both sides having
opportunities, but very few of these were clear chances. On the day,
our decision making, final cross or pass in forward areas lacked
quality and we will be looking to improve in all these areas starting
tonight. The one bright light of the game was our second consecutive
clean sheet. All the team were committed in their defensive duties,
and I now expect the team to maintain this standard in the coming
weeks.
Hendon are coming off a good win on Saturday, so we know that we
need to be on the front foot from the first whistle. And, given our
respective league positions, a win for us tonight would increase our
points advantage over the visitors.
Your support tonight will be vital in helping us over the winning line.
Up the Bluebells!
