P. 3
This afternoon we entertain Mousehole AFC.
We welcome their players, officials and
supporters to Crown Fields, along with our
match officials today, referee Mark Loughlin
and his assistants Matthew Landau & Damon
McEllin.
Let's hope that today's game is as entertaining
as our last game here on Easter Monday, when
the lads put in yet another fine display of
attacking football to convincingly take all three
points from, and achieve a memorable double
over, local rivals Brislington.
This, of course , is our last league game of the
season. I think if you look at any season on
reflection it will, invariably, consist of ups and
downs. For me this has been a season of many
more ups. It has been one in which we have
truly established ourselves in this division and
demonstrated that, on our day, we are not only
able to compete with, but achieve results against the very best that the league has
to offer. It is testament to the hard work and commitment made by John, Russ,
Josh and,of course all of the players and 'backroom' staff that we have come this
far.
As in any club, success is wholly dependent on team work. This extends to the
people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make our club tick. Space does not
permit me to mention people by name, but you know who you are and my thanks
goes to all of you for so generously giving up your time and working so hard to
make things happen.
My thanks too go to our fantastic group of sponsors, without whom none of this
would be possible.
Let's not forget that the story is not quite over! There is the small matter of a Les
Phillips Cup semi final to consider at Cadbury Heath this coming Wednesday 27th
April and hopefully something beyond! ! Hope to see as many of you over there as
can make it.
Last, but by no means least , thanks to you for your fantastic support this season.
I hope that you have enjoyed the ride.
