Dronfield Town, now in the East Midlands League, have re-introduced their Reserve team
(playing in Division Two), while the League’s new names in Division Three are AFC Norton
Woodseats, Mind Over Matter and West End Terriers.
Wakefield AFC Res were Division One’s highest scorers, winning 8-1 at Sheffield Utd
Community Res. Neve Renwick bagged a hat-trick with braces by Nicole Moffatt and Danielle
Shepherd plus a single from Amelia Hunt completing the away goals. Hannah Barden scored the
consolation for the hosts. Chesterfield enjoyed a winning debut with Aimee Stack (2), Katie
Barker and Chloe Foster on target in a 4-2 success over Middlewood whose goals came from Evie
Asquith and Ash Mills, the latter, a promising youngster for Doncaster Rovers Belles and also
England youth teams in the mid-2010s before a bone condition prevented her playing in the top
two tiers. Phoebe Sneddon, at Belles last season, has joined AFC Bentley and she netted their
equaliser in the 1-1 draw against promoted Kiveton Park for whom Sara Tyler scored. Bradie
Wild netted both, including a penalty, in Brunmeer’s 2-1 home win over Barnsley Women’s
Development, Niamh Ashley their scorer from a spot kick.
In Division Two, Handsworth Development were the day’s highest scorers, 10-0 away
to Sheffield City where both Connie Hibbert and Beth Thomas netted four times, whilst May
Carnall and Eden Wilcox completed the scoring. Channy Rymer (2), Sarah Wilson-Rust (2) and
Victoria Egege were on target for newly formed Sheffield Utd Community Development
who won 5-0 at promoted Penistone Church. Worsbrough Bridge Athletic won 3-0 at
home to Dronfield Town Res thanks to goals from Stephanie Marsland (2) and Beth
Goldthorpe.
Rachel Nosworthy bagged a hat-trick to help West End Terriers to a winning debut in
Division Three, 5-2 at Dearne & District. Lucy Chapman and Emma Owen were also on target,
while the home goals came from Amy Finney and Emma Fleetwood. Hannah Newbold (2),
Aveanne Drury and Lily-Ann Revill scored as Eckington Belles won 4-0 at Mind Over
Matter. Georgia Skitt netted the game’s only goal as Charnock Ridgeway won at
Wickersley Youth.
Somerset League
Bishop's Lydeard Res moved to the top of Division One after Alexandra Husson gave them a
1-0 success away to Portishead Town Res. Wellington meanwhile bounced back from an
opening defeat to beat Ilminster Town Res 4-0, courtesy of a goal each from Nylma Forster-
Touray, Marie Barrow, Hannah Worth and Tash Hole. Woodspring Women opened up their
league campaign with a 1-1 draw against Bath City, who scored through Tara Taylor.
Paulton Rovers Development recorded a huge victory over Hutton which keeps
them at the top of Division Two North. Jasmine Ford was on target eight times, Mia Vickery
contributed a further four, while Sadie Whittaker (2), Monica Errington and Abigail Rakes
completed the tally. Berrow and Burnham Utd, in contrast, battled out a goalless draw whilst
Porlock notched up their first points by beating Ashton Women 12-2. Charlotte Jennings and
Georgia Perkins both hit hat-tricks, Kezia Elson added two and also on target were Elizabeth
Darby, Izzy Fitzgerald, Ellie Howe and an own
