Wales to play at Wrexham

Wales will play their first match in Wrexham since 2012 when they face
Estonia on Friday 6th March (kick off 7pm).
Estonia are managed by former Wales manager Jarmo Matikainen
and it will be the fourth time the sides have faced each other. Wales have
won two matches and drawn one in the previous encounters.
The Estonia match is key preparation for Jayne Ludlow’s side ahead
of the second half of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2021 qualification campaign. Cymru currently
sit second in Group C with two key home matches against the Faroe Islands and Norway in
       April.
A return to north Wales for the national side is part of the FAW’s aims to grow the
women’s and girls’ game across the country. Rhiannon Roberts and Elise Hughes are two
players from the area who have been a key part of the current qualification campaign.
“The news of the national team playing in Wrexham has really excited me,” said Elise
Hughes. “Having grown up in the area, I hope the fans turn up in their numbers and we
inspire young girls to help the game grow in north Wales.”
The last time the team played at Wrexham was in June 2012, when Natasha Harding
scored a first half hat-trick as Wales ran out comfortable 5-0 winners over Israel in a Euro
2013 qualifier. Sarah Wiltshire and Hannah Keryakoplis were Wales’ other scorers on the
       day.
Tickets are priced £5 for adults and £2 for Under-16s and Over-65s.
       Women’s Muratti to return

The Football Associations of Guernsey and Jersey are pleased to announce that the Women’s
Muratti will return to the inter-insular football calendar in 2020.
The Muratti is an annual competition, inaugurated as a men’s tournament in 1905,
between teams representing the Channel Islands of Alderney, Guernsey and Jersey. The
competition has been extended in recent years to include a Women’s Muratti - played
between Guernsey and Jersey - as well as Under-21s and Under-18s.
The match will take place at Springfield in Jersey on Sunday 17th May, the day after
the Senior Men’s Muratti Final. It is the first time the match will have been played since 2016.
Guernsey FA director James Falla said: “We are all delighted to see the return of the
Women’s Muratti in 2020. The introduction of the CI Women’s League, with the invaluable
support of our partners at Condor Ferries, has been a major development for the women’s
game in Guernsey, and the growth in player numbers and interest we have seen so far is
       exciting
“The return of the Muratti is an important step forward for the growth of the women’s
game in the island, as we still maintain our focus on the development of our squad for the
2021 NatWest Island Games in Guernsey and beyond.”
Jersey FA CEO Jean-Luc Desbois added: “We’re particularly pleased to confirm the
women’s match is back on the calendar, giving our women’s side more competitive action
following on from their fixtures in the Southern Counties Cup Competition.”
The game will form part of an expanded Muratti weekend in Jersey from Friday 15 to
Sunday 17 May, also planned to feature matches for Over-50s, walking football and disability
       football.
