Ruardean Hill Rangers won this clash of the Forest of Dean Clubs with a 5-1 success over English
Bicknor. Leading goal scorer for Rangers Steve Clark finding the back of the net on four occasions. Rangers
went ahead after just five minutes when a header from Shaun Tingle set up Steve Clark for his first of the
afternoon. English Bicknor had a great chance to level the score when Darryl Addis was put clear on goal,
but Ranger’s keeper Arron Underwood saved well pushing the ball wide of the goal. Bicknor carved out
another good chance to level on 39 minutes, but Underwood saved a great header from James Davies
following a cross from Darryl Addis. Two minutes into the second half Rangers made it 2-0 Steve Clark
controlled a long ball slipped his defender and then drove the ball past keeper Craig Edwards. Just a minute
later Bicknor pulled a goal back with Jamie Davies find the back of the Rangers net. Rangers might have
scored again on 50 minutes when Luke Johnson arrived at the back post only to see his goal-bound effort
brilliantly saved by Edwards. 53 minutes Clark completed his hattrick lobbing Edwards from a Cornwall-Boote
cross. Clark was brought down in the box on 80 minutes and then took the penalty to make it 4-1. The final
th
straw for Bicknor came in the 89 minute when they put through their own goal.
Gala Wilton hit today’s opponent’s basement Club Hanham Athletic for eight without reply. The visitors
had the very first chance to score after six minutes but home keeper Lewis Skyers kept them out. Gala
started the onslaught on nine minutes when Jay Dare broke down the right crossed the ball into Ben Sluman
to drive it into the Hanham net. On 20 minutes an Alex Gaynor shot was parried by the visitor’s keeper, but
brother Dan was following in to make it 2-0 and the first of his four goals of the afternoon. Martin Smith was
unlucky on 26 minutes when his shot hit the post following a Ben Sluman’s cross. Smith made up for that
miss on 34 minutes smashing the ball home for a 3-0 lead. Minutes later Dan Gaynor hit his second following
a good through ball. He then went on to complete his hattrick on 44 minutes after being set up by Martin

Henbury v Hardwicke reported as a drab affair on a difficult pitch was settled by a Jordan Dowdeswell free
kick for the away side on 22 minutes. It proved to be the highlight of a game with very few chances fashioned
by either side. Kane Manning’s had the best chances for Henbury, firing narrowly wide with a fierce strike
from 25 yards on 11 minutes and on 35 minutes blasting over from 15 yards out after a fumble by the
Hardwicke goalkeeper. The second half passed with nothing of note happening and the referee put us all out
of our misery by blowing the final whistle.
Just the one goal in the game between Patchway Town and Frampton United saw the three points head
back up the M5. Three minutes in Frampton’s Harvey Cowley had his shot blocked on the line by Patchway’s
Joe Gayle. Then on 21 minutes Cowley hit the upright and the ball deflect of the home keeper and out for a
corner. The home side’s best chance in the first 45 minutes fell to Joe Barnes who completely miskicked after
Adam Potter had set the chance up. Cowley saw another good effort on goal fly just wide in the 53-minute.
th
Frampton finally broke through in the 66 minute the ball fell kindly to Ryan Ford on the edge of the box and
his shot flew into the net hitting the post on it’s way in. A cross into the Frampton box on 75 minutes found
Barry Phillips but as the ball hit Phillips it went straight into the Frampton keepers’ arms.
Sharpness and Rockleaze Rangers enjoyed a lively 1-1 draw with Sharpness enjoying the better chances.
In the first half Brad Gibbs scored after Rangers failed to clear a corner. Sharpness had several good chances
with Ranger’s goalkeeper Jordan Dunning making an important one handed save to prevent the lead
doubling. Will Lacey was unfortunate when his effort on goal hit the bar, with Rockleaze holding the score to
1-0 at half time. Rockleaze grew into the second half and hit Sharpness on the break with Zayd Alli finishing
a good move down the right side. An open game which failed to offer any further goals with both sides
sharing the points in the end.
