League Review



       The weekend started with an exciting 3-3 draw between Slimbridge and Pershore Town
       at Wisloe Road on Friday evening. The hosts had goals from Ben Hands, Harrison Reeves
       and Rudi McKinnon in response to an early goal for Pershore from Matthew Reed, and own
       goal, and one from Joshua Wills.
       Whilst Worcester City were busying themselves qualifying for the Fourth Round of the FA
       Vase by beating Boston Town from Lincolnshire 2-0, Corsham Town took advantage to
       draw  level  with  them  at  the  top  of  the  Premier  Division  table  with  a  4-1  victory  over
       Worcester Raiders with goals coming from Jack Taylor and Alex Hallett before half time,
       and a brace by Daniel Price after the break. Daniel Cottrill netted Raiders’ consolation goal.
       Seven points behind them in third spot are Royal Wootton Bassett Town who ran out
       4-2 winners at home to Lydney Town. Louis Spalding, Thomas Ouldridge, Adam Corcoran
       and  Harry  Walters  were  on  target  for  Town,  while  the  visitors  hit  back  through  Tristan
       Murphy and Matthew Lee.
       Rising to fourth spot is Roman Glass St. George who edged out Longlevens by a solitary
       Rhys Sarson goal to nothing at Oaklands Park.
       Hereford Pegasus snatched a point from a 2-2 draw at Mangotsfield United with a goal
       scored by Cawley Cox four minutes into stoppage time. Jamie Price grabbed their other goal
       in reply to Jack Nunn and Jaydn Crosbie for Mangos.
       At the bottom end of the table, Wantage Town appear doomed to finish in the bottom two
       relegation positions after losing 3-0 at Westfields in their latest outing. Adam Wakley and
       Oliver Barnes 2 did the damage.
       Thornbury Town and Tuffley Rovers both earned a point from a 1-1 draw at Glevum
       Road. James Brock was on target for Thorns and Karnell Chambers for Tuffley.
       In the other games played, Fairford Town took all three points from their home game
       against Cinderford Town courtesy of a Jamal Lawrence goal. Highworth Town pipped
       Hereford Lads Club by the odd goal in five. Mason Godsall gave the Lads the lead, but
       Steve Robertson levelled for Town and an own goal put them ahead. Caden Allport brought
       the Lads level again, however late goals from Regan Cook and Joshua Davis took the spoils
       for Highworth.

       Malmesbury Victoria replaced Clanfield 85 at the top of Division One and scored a huge
       psychological victory over their rivals by beating them 3-0 with goals from Kyle Witt 2 and
       George Evatt. Victoria now lead the table by two points with a game in hand.
       Hartpury University still have games in hand on all of their rivals and kept their challenge
       alive by gaining a single goal victory at Cheltenham Saracens thanks to Luke Salter’s late
       strike.
       Devizes Town kept in touch with the top teams when they edged out Abingdon United
       2-1Keiron Gleed’s double was enough to see off Harry Ackland’s consolation goal for United.
       Chipping Sodbury Town finally rose off the bottom of the table when they notched a
       shock 1-0 win over Sporting Club Inkberrow at The Ridings. Callum Ball grabbed the only
       goal of the game.
       Aleksander  Milchev  and  Kyle  Moss  both  netted  twice  to  give  Kidlington  Reserves  a
       handsome 4-1 victory at Shortwood United and kept them off the bottom. Dan Gayner
       pulled a goal back for United in the final minute.
       Long Crendon are now on the bottom after a 5-0 home reverse by Stonehouse Town.
       Luke Soule led the way with four of the goals and Tiger Harris added the other goal.
       Moreton Rangers are another team from the lower reaches of the table who defied the
       odds  on  to  record  a  win  on  Saturday.  Felix  Robertson  and  Nathan  Sherpa-Moore  gave
       Rangers a 2-0 win over Tytherington Rocks.
       The remaining game was won by Calne Town who were 3-1 victors against Southam
       United. Jack Smith, Stuart Windsor and an own goal accounted for the goals.
