Monday saw us play local rivals Hartcliffe in the Semi Final of the
Filwood fields cup,

We knew this was going to be a tough fixture and we needed to be a
lot better than in our previous game against Bristol Spartak where we
didn’t have a lot of the ball but defended well for long periods of the
game.

We started a little slow but gradually started winning our individual
battles and earned the right to play football, we went 1-0 up around 20
minutes in when a good bit of football saw the ball go into Dan Elson
who finished well into the far bottom corner of the net, we were on top
for the remainder of the half although Hartcliffe had 2 very good
opertunities missed including an open goal,

Second half we upped our game again and never really looked back
always seemed to be in control although not creating a great deal. 20
minutes before the end charlie young scored to double our lead before
a solo effort by Dan Elson put the game to bed.

Onto Fridays final in another game that will be harder again against
fry’s cup winners Broad Plain House, hoping for another good
performance and hopefully winning the Filwood cup which would be a
nice way to round off a very positive pre season
