Manager’s Viewpoint
We welcome Nailsea Utd to BBS Park.
As always we expect a tough fixture. Nailsea having a hard start in
terms of opposition in their opening 3 games.
3 draws from 3, meaning a meeting of two unbeaten sides after the
opening few weeks of fixtures.
Last season, we only got the 1 point against Nailsea. Losing on the
road and drawing at home.
We also welcome Nailsea’s new manager Ricky Hutt back to Filwood.
Ricky had a season at the club just over a year ago playing for our A’
team.
This past Tuesday evening we were in action.
We beat Clutton 4-0 at home. It was a very well supported game ,
which was great to see. But we never actually played to well.
Sounds a bit mental when we were 4-0 up at half time. But for
25minutes we didn’t get going. We come alive for 15 minutes. Scored
all our goals. And then seemed like we eased off.
We managed a bit of rotation in the starting XI and managed to make
a glut of early substitutions in the second half. But we are certainly
not complaining with our 4 wins from 4.
On another note - we’re expecting another large crowd. There will be
a family day being held at the club. And our Under 7’s , who are
coached by Striker Dylan Whittle will be match day mascots.
Anyhow, a game we’re all looking forward to. And all the best to all
involved.
Dickie.
