Hellenic League Review…..
Jack Watts fired a hat trick in Bishops Cleeve’s 7-1 demolition of
Hereford Lads Club which takes them to the verge of the Premier
Division League championship. They now require just one more point to
confirm them as the winners following a fine run. Jordan Annear, Lindon
Dovey, Joe Selman and Kieran Alder completed the victory. Henry Dyde
notched the consolation goal for Hereford.
Westbury United are favourites to take the runners-up position after
beating Thornbury Town 3-0 with goals coming from Harvey Flippance
2 and Steve Hulbert.
Cribbs edged out Brimscombe & Thrupp by virtue of a single goal
scored by Steve Murray at The Lawns.
Malvern Town can still pip Cribbs for third place if they win their final
game of the season. On Saturday they pipped Shrivenham by the odd
goal in five after strikes by Joe Bullock, Ben Hayes, and Matt Turner.
Shane Hibbert and an own goal replied for the Wiltshire side.
Bradford Town can also finish in third spot, but they were held up in
their attempts when they were held to a goal less draw by Roman Glass
St. George.
Westfields ran out 4-1 home winners against Chipping Sodbury
Town after goals from Harrison Summers 2, Daniel Stoneman and
Joshua Hunt. Sol Pryce hit back for the Sods.
Treyvond Anderson, Troy Simpson and Tyrees Coleman were on target
for Hallen who eased to a 3-0 victory against fellow strugglers Calne
Town at Hallen Centre but it was all too late to save both clubs from
relegation.
Tuffley Rovers also went down 3-0 at Fairford Town for whom Ross
Langworthy netted twice and Dan Bailey the other, and Lydney Town
suffered a 4-2 home reverse to Longlevens who had goals from Joey
Haswell, Rudi McKinnon, James Sunley and Kacey Johnstone. Declan
Morley-Lyne and Jordan Sheen replied with consolation goals for the
home side.
First Division Champions Studley were beaten 2-0 at Shortwood
United for whom Lennon Lewis and Tariq Soliman were the marksmen
at Meadowbank.
Worcester Raiders finished as runners-up after hammering
Malmesbury Victoria 7-0. On the mark were Isaac Cooper and Josh
Willis with hat tricks and Jordan Murphy grabbed the other gal.
Hereford Pegasus in fourth place ran out 5-1 winners at Cirencester
Town Development thanks to Cawley Cox 2, Matthew Reeve, Saul
Thomas and Toby Wildig. Sean Mckeon pulled a goal back for the hosts.
Anther team to rattle in five goals away from home was Cheltenham
Saracens who notched a similar success at Bourton Rovers with goals
coming from Jordan Bryan 2, Harry Duncan, Oliver Whelan and an own
goal. Connor Hitchman reduced thar rears for Bourton.
Lee fireworks at Pershore Town where the home side won by a James
Baldwin goal against Abingdon United.
