S-Tech Cambridgeshire League
St Ives Town Development were unable to take a chance to replace an inactive Ketton
at the top of the Premiership when they were beaten 4-2 by Whittlesey Athletic. Hannah
Murphy netted twice for Whittlesey along with Zoe Leddy and Annie Posnett, Poppy Lyons
bagging a brace in reply. Leverington Sports have moved up to third after two Sophie
Swinden goals gave them a 2-0 victory over March Town Utd. Cambridge University
were beaten for the first time, 1-0 by Cambridge City A with Tiana Walker scoring the only
goal of the game, whilst Evie Driscoll-King netted four times, Megan Breakwell twice and
Katie Steward the other as Peterborough Northern Star Res won 7-1 at Fulbourn
Institute Bluebirds.
Cardea Ladies stay three points clear at the head of the Championship North
division after beating Eaton Socon 5-1 in the top of the table clash. Emma Pollard hit a
hat-trick for Cardea, with Courtney Coles adding the other two. Defeat for Eaton Socon
means they have been replaced in second place by Park Ladies, who kept up their good
form by scoring nine times without reply past Cambourne Utd. Erin Powell, Francesca
Plitsch and Georgia Stimson each netted twice along with Maddison Jackson, Jenna Brown
and Sherrie Downey. Libby Friel scored both goals for Pinchbeck Utd in their 2-0 victory
over Brampton Ladies.
Histon Res are the new leaders of Championship South following a twelve-goal
victory over Haverhill Rovers Community. Jordanne Sillitoe spearheaded the win as she
was on target seven times whilst Molly Blair and Amanda Binge each contributed a brace,
Katie Webb adding the other goal. Histon lead the table on goal difference from Cambridge
Rangers who defeated previous table toppers Newmarket Town Development 3-2,
thanks to a goal apiece from Erika Balskute, Hannah Mardell and Katie Grigg. Histon
Hornets leapt up the table by picking up maximum points from a double header with
Burwell Tigers. Kirsty Lemmon-Sparkes bagged a hat-trick along with Philippa Hayden-
Evans, Emily Owen-Brown and Martina Rudhun as the Hornets won the first game 6-0 and
they added a further five in the second, Hayden-Evans and Rudhun each netting twice and
Taylor Banish adding the other. Lauren Deller, Eloise Gookey and Caroline Limas accounted
for the goals as Mildenhall Town won 3-2 at Isleham Utd.
Eastbound Electrical Cornwall League
Callington Town Res remain on course to finish in second place in the East Division
behind newly crowned Champions Saltash Utd after they defeated Foxhole Stars 4-2.
Lisa Pearce scored twice for Callington along with Lauren Baker and an own goal, Claudia
Beaumont-Olver and Morgen Kent replying. Sam Metters bagged a six-goal haul for Saltash
Borough in their 10-1 victory over Charlestown, she was joined on the scoresheet by
Hollie Congo, Molly Gill, Jenny Goodman and Sophia Thorning-Curtis.
Penryn's challenge in the West Division took a huge knock when they were held to
a goalless draw by St Agnes Res, who drew 0-0 for the second week in a row. The result
means that Helston Athletic require one win from their last three games to be crowned as
Champions. Mousehole meanwhile remain on course for a top three place and still have
Penryn in their sights after winning 3-1 away to Illogan RBL, thanks to a goal apiece from
Sophie Wilson, Lyndsey Williams and Candice Britten.
East Riding League
AFC Preston made it eight wins in a row with a 2-0 success away to North Ferriby
Women. Alex Beardshaw and Aimee Lindley scored the goals to take Preston eleven points
clear at the top of the table from their second placed opponents. Samantha Temple, Ellie
