Worcester City maintained their winning form to win 4-1 at Westfields to stay
three points clear of Corsham Town at the top of the Premier Division.
Goals from Kyle Belmonte, Elliott Hartley, Liam Lockett and Lorcan Sheehan saw
Worcester cruise to another three points; Dan Stoneman replying for the home
side.
Corsham travelled to Thornbury Town and opened a two-goal lead through Mark
Cooper and Kye Simpson. Stanley Wyatt halved the deficit before half time for
Thornbury, but the Wiltshire outfit held on for the three points.
Cinderford Town kept themselves in touch with the play-offs with a single-goal
home win over Hereford Lads Club. Drew Heffernan’s goal leaves them four
points off the play-off places with games in hand.
Two goals from Zaqib Hussain earned a 2-2 draw for Worcester Raiders at Tuffley
Rovers who replied with a brace from Karnell Chambers. Raiders are now just one
point outside the play-offs in eighth place.
Lydney Town fought back to force a 2-2 draw at home to Hereford Pegasus.
Cawley Cox and is Lewis Fletcher gave Pegasus the advantage, however the
home side claimed a point thanks to goals from Callum Dark and Jordan Sheen.
Mangotsfield United and Royal Wootton Bassett Town played out a goal less
draw at Cossham Street.
Highworth Town lead a pack of four clubs within a point of the play-offs after
beating Fairford Town 4-0 on Friday evening. Robert Dean, Leon Morrison, Luke
Whelan and Daniel Grieve were their marksmen.
First Division pace setters Hartpury University shared a goal less draw at
Devizes Town but strengthened their lead to 14 points as second-placed Clanfield
85 fell foul of the weather.
The majority of the action at the weekend involved the teams who are fighting to
avoid the relegation positions.
A goal from substitute Charlie Davis two minutes from time gave Chipping
Sodbury Town a vital 2-1 home victory against Newent Town. Owen Lingard had
scored for the ‘Sods’ in the first half whilst Kyle Taylor had seemed to put Newent
on course for a valuable away point.
A 3-1 win at Abingdon United has virtually assured that Cheltenham Saracens
have erased any lingering thoughts of the drop. Jamie Goodwin, Thomas Hoskins
and Stuart Midwinter saw them home; Daniel Chalmers responded for the home
side.
Long Crendon are still making a fight of things. Their latest 2-0 win against fellow
strugglers Moreton Rangers was secured by Tom Lethbridge and Tijeanne Bartley
with both goals coming in a lightning start in the first seven minutes.
Malmesbury Victoria suffered a setback to their promotion hopes when they lost
2-1 at FC Stratford for whom Sacha Everard and Tim Oyanda netted. Harvey
Scholes kept Vics interested.
Tytherington Rocks were 2-1 winners at home to Shortwood United.
