Thoughts

This evening we welcome the Players, Officials and Supporters of Hengrove Athletic
to Stockwood Lane for a Toolstation Western League Division 1 match.

Well, they always say that a week is a long time in football, and the last week has
been certainly true to that!

We go into tonight’s match having won our last two games, each five goal thrillers
and with a definite buzz in the camp. We still have quite a few games in hand from
those teams above us so if we can maintain this momentum we should see
ourselves power away from the bottom of the table.
Our opponents tonight are our nearest rivals and are well known to us with many
players having been shared over the years. They are having a mixed season but
come to us on the back of a good win themselves at the weekend so tonight’s game
should be a cracker!
Covid is still prevalent with the Omicron variant still causing havoc but we are
beginning to see the shoots of ‘normality’ returning. Please use the hand sanitiser
units at our entrance and in the club and lets be sensible so that we can, perhaps
, actually finish this season.

Lets hope for a well contested contest tonight and whatever the score, let’s all
enjoy the game and remember to accept the Referee’s judgement whether we
agree or not, as with-out officials we could not play the game…
Come and visit me in the kitchen at half time for hot drinks and hot food and failing
that I hope to have a beer with you all at the end, hopefully with a ‘Phones win to
celebrate!
