Roberts and Sam Ashton were on target.
Merthyr Town enjoyed a good 5-2 win against Truro City at the Met Coaches Stadium
Lewis Powell bagged a brace, Ricardo Rees, Ismael Yakubu and an own goal for the Martyrs.
In all-Premier Division Central encounters, Mickleover were beaten 3-2 at the Don Amott
Stadium by Alvechurch, while Redditch United won 4-1 at Dales Lane against Rushall
Olympic. Bernard Mensah with two Ryan Boothe and Robbie Bunn for the Reds.
Other Premier Division Central teams through are Bedford Town, who won the derby at
Hillgrounds in front of 511 against Division One Central neighbours Kempston Rovers 2-1
with goals from Drew Richardson on 56 minutes and Craig Mackail-Smith on 79 minutes -
Pemi Aderoju pulling one back 5 minutes from time.
Kings Langley won 2-0 at Kempston’s league rivals Harlow Town with Kennedy Feyi and
Harry Crawford the scorers.
Royston Town won the derby at Hertingfordbury Park against another Division One Central
outfit, Hertford Town, thanks to a hat-trick from Matt Bateman.
A Premier Division South team avoiding an upset against Division One South side were
Tiverton Town, who edged a 1-0 win at Badgers Hill against Frome Town, courtesy of an
11th-minute goal from former Frome player Kane Simpson.
Two others though face replays, with the Dorset derby between Wimborne Town and
Dorchester Town finishing in a lively goalless draw in front of 462, while Swindon
Supermarine shared a 1-1 draw at Willand Rovers. Lewis Hill’s 8th-minute opener for
Rovers being cancelled out by Leon Morrison in the 53rd minute.
In all-Division One South encounters, it finished 0-0 at Thornhill Park between Slimbridge
and Sholing, while Bishops Cleeve beat fellow newcomers Westbury United 3-1 at
Kayte Lane with Archie Haskayne and George Box with two for the hosts - Sam Jordan
replying.
And Division One South side Larkhall Athletic were beaten 2-0 by former rivals and now
Division One Central outfit Cirencester Town at Plain Ham, thanks to a brace from Levi
Irving.
There were two matches in the Pitching In Southern League Division One South on
Saturday – both finishing 3-2.
Evesham United and Melksham Town both recorded third wins from five games played
to date.
The Robins beat Bristol Manor Farm at the Spiers & Hartwell Jubilee Stadium, coming
back from being a 23rd-minute Jake Gosling goal down. Ben Whitehead equalised 10
minutes later, only for Owen Howe to restore Farm’s lead 4 minutes later. Kyle Belmonte
pulled United back on level terms on the hour-mark and Owen James popped up with the
winner with 6 minutes remaining.
At the Oakfield Stadium, Lymington Town remain win-less after four games following
defeat to Melksham Town, who also recorded a third success from their five matches.
This time the hosts had to come back from 2-0 down after Toby Bailey on 26 minutes and
then Luke Churchill on 55 minutes had the Linnets in control. Ollie Webb reduced the deficit
on the hour-mark and then Chris Zebroski equalised with 5 minutes remaining. And then in
the 5th minute of stoppage time, Sam Hendy popped up with Melksham’s winner.
