President’s

           Thoughts

Well, they say 7 days in football is a long time, but 4 days is just as bad!
From the euphoria of Wednesdays win we were brought down to earth on
Saturday when we had to play 85 minutes with 10 men. The lads ran their
socks off, but ended up losing 4-1 to a well ordered Cheddar side.

By today we have played another game against Lebeq and I hope that
       game went in our favour.
Today’s opponents are Odd Down and we hope that their players, officials
and supporters enjoy their visit to ‘The Lane’. We last played Odd Down in
a pre-season friendly some years ago when drew 1-1 I seem to recall. Since
then they have tended to be at the lower reaches of the Premier division
and this season took the decision to voluntarily drop to this division.
Considering the amount of travelling involved in the top tier I can’t say I
       blame them!

At a risk of stating the obvious, please use the various hand gels provided
and try and keep a distance from others around you so that you don’t get
‘pinged’ by the NHS App. We all know that Covid is far from finished and the
more sensible we are the better chance we have of competing the whole
       season this time.

Lets hope for a well contested contest today and whatever the score, let’s
all enjoy the game and remember to accept the Referee’s judgement
whether we agree or not, as with-out officials we could not play the game...

As we all say #Up the Phones

As always I look forward to having a drink (or two) with you all in the bar
after (Socially distanced, of course), and you can find me in the kitchen
providing tea’s, coffee’s, pasties and pies during the game. Come and look
       me up!
