Just five games in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South on
Saturday due to Buildbase FA Trophy involvement.
And they saw Gosport Borough move into second place, six points behind leaders
Farnborough, after a 5-0 hammering of third-bottom Merthyr Town at Privett
       Park.
In front of a crowd of 569, Theo Lewis gave the home side a 10th-minute lead that
Mason Walsh doubled on the half-hour mark. It was virtually game over on 63
minutes when Dan Wooden made it 3-0 and then Sirigui Demebele on 84 minutes
and Luke Hallett in stoppage time put the icing on the cake for Boro.
There was a crucial win at the other end of the table for Dorchester Town and
for new boss Glenn Howes. The Magpies beat fellow strugglers Kings Langley 2-
0 in front of 446 at the Avenue Stadium to move six points in front of their victims
       in 18th spot.
Kieran Roberts scored his first goal for the Magpies to give them a 25th-minute
       lead.
And then on 73 minutes, Tom Purrington was tripped in the area and Tom Soares
netted the resulting spot-kick to double the home side`s lead and ensure the points
       stayed in Dorset.
Another important result at the bottom end of the table saw Beaconsfield Town
inflict a 5-1 drubbing on Swindon Supermarine at Holloways Park to move to
within a point and a place of the visitors in 17th. Ollie McCoy gave the Rams a great
start with a goal after just six minutes. Then a Nathan Minhas brace in the 32nd
and 41st minutes made it 3-0 at the break. McCoy added his second on 57 minutes
and then Brad Hooper`s penalty for ‘Marine was saved by Aymen Azaze, only for
Kieran Phillips to pull a goal back two minutes later. But Dan Bradshaw made it a
nap hand for the home side in the 4th minute of stoppage time.
An early Karl Oliyide brace in the 2nd and 5th minutes eventually proved enough
for Chesham United at the Meadow against Hendon in front of 505.
The day`s other game saw Yate Town and Taunton Town share a 0-0 draw at
Lodge Road. It was a feisty affair with numerous bookings, including one for
Taunton boss Rob Dray! After the game it was announced that Yate`s top scorer
and skipper Dave Sims-Burgess is leaving to join Vanarama National League South
       side Bath City.
