this year they chose me. Thank you guys.
Sorry if this sounds like making excuses
circumstances could’ve been a little bit
easier this season following our promotion
to division We have suffered for long term
injuries to key players, fixture planning from
the League hasn’t been the best, where we
had too many gaps early in the season and
now find ourselves having to play half of season in just 2 months.
Following a good run, we could see that we had the ability in the squad,
games in hand, we thought at least halfway most realistic.
With games coming, thick and fast, player availability as become a
challenge, mainly due to more injuries. We travelled to Somerton with 8
players missing and we weren’t at our best in the second half and suffered
a 4-0 defeat. The following Wednesday we gave promotion chasing
Wrington a very good game. On another night could’ve picked up all 3
points, but lost by the odd goal.
On Saturday 8th April, we took a patched up team to Minehead, played
well but and again lost by the odd goal. Two days later, Easter Monday,
we travel to Westfield in Midsummer Norton again nowhere near for
strength, gave a good account or sales, but unfortunately lost 3-1 due to
2 late goals.
On Saturday, April 15 Somerton visited us, in a highly entertaining 0-0 we
hit the woodwork twice. The keeper pulled off 2 saves that he didn’t know
anything about and another cleared off the line. We had a better squad
available that day and thoroughly deserve three points.
Mid week we made the short trip to Nailsea & Tickenham, their manager,
as watch, does more than some of our supporters in the last two months!
We lost by the old goal, again orange, re hits. I put up a good
performance and we did have one chance late on the could’ve and us a
share of the points, but it wasn’t to be.
as you’re reading this, we are probably on our way down to Castle Cary,
with 4 players away on Sam Price‘s stag weekend, If we can come away
with a point I’ll be more than happy. We are next at the Lancer Scott this
coming Wednesday, with a nice local derby versus Yatton and Cleve
United, 630 kickoff. Then 4 more games to squeeze in 8 days
Hope to see a few of you soon .
Enjoy your game.
