Wags

What an eventful few weeks we’ve had!

23th September saw us face Wrington FC at home. With a flat and disappointing
performance in the first half, the WAGs were forced to question which side had just
been promoted into the league. Morale was incredibly low, both on and off the
pitch, after we conceded two goals during the first half. Alas, the second half didn’t
start with the turnaround we’d hoped for; leaving Mendip 3-0 down with 20
minutes to spare. The final leg of the game will be etched in our memories for time
to come. With a fantastic header & penalty from Dylan and an equalising goal from
JP, we were relieved to be nearing the end of the game with a respectable point on
the horizon. However, no other than Connor Biggins scored the fourth belter in the
90th minute causing emotional scenes to erupt with PDAs flying about left, right &
       centre.

30th September, we travelled to Ilminster. Again, this was another underwhelming
game which resulted in a 0-0 draw. We entered the following week with too many
unanswered questions: Could the boys bring it back the following week? Could this
knock in confidence affect us going forward? Could Ilminster have taken worse
photos of the boys if he tried?
       The pressure was on.

7th October saw us take on another cup match (Cutters Friday away). A perfectly
timed breather from the league that was well needed. It also saw all 3 of the WAG’s
partners/husbands benched. With the match against Chilcompton the following
Tuesday looming, we’re choosing to believe this was tactile move from
management. Nobody puts Baby in the corner!
With goals from JP and Jack Medj the pressure was on the boys to perform when
their time came. A goal from Rhys, assisted by Dylan, came just in time. The
question is: will it be enough to get them back in for Tuesdays game?
The megaphone might make it’s return if it isn’t!
As always, we are wishing the lads the very best of luck this evening as we face
what can arguably be perceived as our toughest opponents yet! With a full-house
of players & the return of part-timer, Seb Williams, we’re hoping for a strong
performance and a win which will further cement our position at the top of the
       league!

       Up the Mendip.

       Love,

       Sam, Beau & Shannon
       X
