Gold Stadium. Poole Town U18’s also reached the 2nd Rd Proper of the FA Youth
Cup losing out to Leyton Orient at Poole in front of a 300+ crowd.
2017-18 saw a final day relegation with the club dropping back into the Southern
Premier after two seasons.
2018/19 saw the club reach the Southern League – Premier South play off final
after securing 5th spot in the table, after winning the semi-final away at Taunton
Town which went to a dramatic penalty shootout AET only to lose out at
Metropolitan Police by a 1-0 score line. They did secure the Dorset Senior Cup v
Wimborne Town winning 5-0 at Dorchester Town in April.
The 2019/20 season saw Poole on course for a Playoff spot, before the league was
abandoned, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
The 2020/21 season Poole were top of the league and looking strong contenders
for promotion, before the league was abandoned once again just after Christmas,
due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
TOM KILLICK
MANAGER
Took over in May 2004, previously a Town player with a long non-league career as
a prolific striker, Non-League Player of the Year 1991/2 & member of the F.A. Vase
winning Wimborne team in 1991/92.
Arrived from Salisbury City where he was Assistant Manager. Steered club to
promotion in his first year and established Poole as a powerhouse team in the
Wessex Premier Division. Winning the last three titles and promoted to The
Southern South & West in 2011-12, he built a squad to finish 2nd in their first year
and missed out on Promotion in the play-off final but won the league outright in
2012-13, winning the Dorset Senior cup in 2010, 2013 and 2014. 2014/15 18/19 –
took side to runners-up in the Premier and Red Insure Cup winners adding the
Southern Premier title in 2015/16 & a 5th place in National League South in
2016/2017 prior to the relegation reverse of season 17/18. Made play offs
2018/2019.
MICKY HUBBARD
ASSISTANT MANAGER
Was with Poole as a player until the latter part of the 2011/2012 season when Poole
made their return to the Southern League, he departed to Wimborne Town and has
over the past few seasons played for several local clubs.
RICHARD GILLESPIE
COACH
Joined on the playing staff back in 2013/2014 from AFC Totton previously also with
Eastleigh and Bashley with well 350 goals to his credit. Suffered on the injury front
during his playing career with Poole but still produced an amazing goals to
appearance ratio. Eventually moved to Dorchester Town late in 2018/2019 but
returned the same season on the coaching side, has now officially retired from
playing. Appearances: 102 Goals 51.
