End of Year Message
End o f Y e a r M e s s a g e
Firstly, a warm welcome to the players and officials of Poole Town for
today’s Southern League Premier South game at Lodge Road.
Today’s game against Poole Town will be our fourth match in 11 days.
Each of the previous three matches have told a different story.
The first game here at Lodge Road against Hendon, was a close
affair, but we always carried the greater goal threat and a late Darren
Mullings goal, earned us a deserved victory, against the visitor’s more
direct approach play. It was however, disappointing to lose Liban
Ibrahim to a unfortunate second yellow card which sees him miss
today’s game.
Last Saturday we played a very good Truro City team, who deserved

the win. But the winning margin was unfair on us for the
commitment, the chances we made and squandered and the general
high standard of our play throughout the game.
On Tuesday evening we travelled to Hanwell Town, and our first half
performance could not just be put down to our late arrival at the
ground! In that opening 45 minutes we were second best all over the
pitch. In fairness to the lads, the second half was a more even
contest, but the final outcome of the game had been settled by half
time. A diversion on the return journey home and an eventual arrival
in Yate at 1:45am summed up the evening!
Finally, we are expecting Poole to be well supported this afternoon,
so your vocal encouragement to the lads throughout game is really
required for today’s match, as we look for a positive result!
Up the Bluebells!
