In what are such very difficult times for many families in the local area, two of Somerset's
biggest football clubs are coming together in this time of need.
Yeovil United Football Club and Bridgwater Town Football Club are joining forces to
raise much needed funds and awareness for local charities within the Bridgwater area. The
‘United For Bridgwater' campaign, is a joint mission to support the local community, with
a target to raise £10,000 through both club's '50 For Bridgy' event - 50 marathons in a day
       for the town.
With both men's and women's football suspended until at least the middle of
February, each club's senior squad and management including Bridgwater CEO Adam
Murry and Chairman Bob Buckingham, as well as Yeovil manager Jamie Sherwood, will be
       taking on this gruelling challenge.
Each player will take to the streets of their local area to complete the 26.2 miles by
foot, in no more than 24 hours on 6th February 2021. All money raised will stay in the town
and go to such worthy causes who provide incredible support to the most vulnerable in
       society.
The funds raised will go to support organisations such as Bridgwater Foodbank and
       other deserving charities.
Yeovil United and Bridgwater Town ask followers of both clubs and the wider
community, to back our campaign and help us serve their community. Two clubs, one goal,
       United for Bridgwater.

London City Lionesses have confirmed the
signing of goalkeeper Nina Wilson in the January
       transfer window.
            Wilson had most recently played
professionally in the Icelandic League for
       Fjardabyggd/Höttur/Leiknir, with previous
spells playing for Watford FC Women, Lewes FC
and Brighton & Hove Albion FC. She has also
previous represented England with the College
National Team in 2017-18 and will be available
for selection for this weekend's match versus
       Durham Women.
The 21-year-old was first choice goalkeeper for Watford FC in the 2019-20 season -
starting 14 out of 19 games and keeping five clean sheets - with her side challenging for
promotion to the FA Women's Championship before the season was delayed due to the
       covid-19 pandemic.
Nina Wilson said: "I am ready to make the next step in my career and I can think of
nowhere better than with London City Lionesses. Everyone I talked to before joining the
club had only good things to say and I was excited by meeting people from LCL. I can't wait
to get going and hope to make an impact on the pitch as soon as possible."
First Team Head Coach Melissa Phillips added: "I'm tremendously excited about the
addition of Nina to our squad. She brings a tenacious work ethic coupled with a desire to
improve her game daily. She has already added value to our culture and I'm excited to see
her thrive within the environment now that she's on board."
