Nick’s Notes. The Resies
Ashton & Backwell utd Reserves 0 V Imperial Utd 0
Last week two promotion rivals battled difficult conditions but
delivered a very entertaining game that finished 0-0, tactically our
boys got it spot on. The hosts never got a shot on target and we
had the better of the clear cut chances, Jordan Bishop rounding off
a great move only to see his effort clear the crossbar. Cam Main
came off the bench and his cross was just behind Paul Uppington
who adjusted but could only fire wide and it was Will Solari also
coming off the bench who put Uppington through one on one with
the keeper, but his touch was a little hard and the keeper collected.
Got to say we well deserved our point and that made it 4 unbeaten
since the turn of the year. With our exceptionally big squad it
meant 2 players had to sit this game out which is never easy but
with the spirit and togetherness of this bunch of players, they took
it with understanding, knowing that rotation is a must. No game for
us today but we will be at the ground supporting our lads hopefully
getting 3 points. Next up for us is at home on 19 Vs Winscombe,
th
hoping for another positive result to keep the run going.
