Nick’s Notes. The Resies

        SPONSORED BY THE 3 STALWARTS
        MIKE, TONY DAVE
We would to thank 3 of our longest supporters Mike,
Tony and Dave for sponsoring Nick Smart, our reserve
manager. Each year the 3 of them make a donation to
sponsor someone at the club. This year they chose
                                    Smarty, THANK YOU GUYS.

Saturday we managed to play our 1st game in 3 weeks,
travelling down to Staplegrove in Taunton. We were
both level on points in the relegation places, though we
have 4 games in hand. 2 more goals from TJ gave us a
3-2 victory that moved us 6 places up the table, with games in hand on most teams around
us. Its tight, 3 points separate 8 teams. Ive lost count how many times we have had to
re-arrange our cup game V Westland sports, which is now rescheduled for Wednesday
        feb. 15, 7.30 ko.
I have to say the season so far has got increasingly better after a shaky start.
Unfortunately we have a list of unprecedented injuries in which we have not seen before:
Cam Main, Paul Uppington, Joe Meredith, Sam Thomas and Cordell Young all picking up
severe injuries. Cordell has had his operation and now Cam has had his knee operation,
followed by Paul Uppington on Jan 17, with Joe Meredith waiting on a scan. We wish
        them well.
With all this going on we have still managed to become very competitive and are now
holding our own in a new, tough division. Archie Ferris has stepped up to the plate along
with Ricky Sergeant our new signings. The rest of the squad are really proving that they
are up for the fight and that we do not look out of place in this division. Having only
played 11 games, we are in for a busy 2nd half of the season, we have to make the games
in hand to climb up the table.
This coming Saturday we welcome top of the table Middlezoy Rovers reserves to the
Lancer Scott stadium, 2pm KO. I hope you can come along and support us.
Enjoy your game, see you soon.

        Smarty
