In Town today
Andrew Gunn - Enjoying his 3rd stint with the Millers now; Gunny has played for
Oxford United, Banbury Town amongst others, most recently for Thatcham Town.
Possesses a calmness on the ball, is great in the air and is strong in communication.
A solid defender who has immense experience and always shows commitment to
the cause.
Michael Hopkins – Returned to the Millers at the end of last season, joining from
Swindon Supermarine. He is predominately a left sided player, either in the
defence or in midfield, but can also play on the right as well. He has previously had
spells at Didcot Town and Hungerford Town after starting at Reading Academy as
a youngster. His experience at Step 3 in this league will be vital this season.
MIDFIELDERS
Jack Alexander - Former Scotland Youth international who was with Liverpool
and Bristol City as a youngster. Having also played for Eastleigh he became a
regular choice for Swindon Supermarine at right-back, before moving to Thatcham
Town in November '18. Last season he played for Wantage Town. He will
undoubtedly be a strong presence at the heart of the Millers midfield this season.
George Nash – Nash is a 29-year-old defensive midfielder and was key signing
back in the 20/21 campaign. He continues to be a pivotal link between the front
and back lines and is tasked with getting on the ball at every opportunity to get the
team passing and moving forward. Another player formerly at Didcot and Banbury,
but also has experience Worcester City and with the England Futsal team.
Aaron Heap - Heap returned to the Millers for a second spell from Southern
Premier Division side Banbury United in December of 2021. The 21-year-old began
his career in the junior sides at Southern Division One Central side Kidlington and

the latter and then being rewarded in the summer of 2018 with a professional
contract. He made two appearances for Oxford in the EFL Trophy in 2018/19 and
was a regular in their under-23 side that season.
Roger James - This young man needs no introduction to Millers fans having
featured prominently for the club in previous seasons. A dangerous winger who can
turn on a sixpence and his electric pace and determination make him almost
unbeatable 1-on-1. He returned to North Leigh having spent time at Cirencester
Town. Had a fantastic season last year, finishing as the clubs top scorer.
Jordan Thomas - Jordan has come up through the Procision Academy system and
was handed his chance at Southern League level last year by Didcot Town. Has
made the switch to his local team in the Millers over the summer. He loves to run
with the ball and try to create things in the final third. Became a firm “fan’s
favourite” last season with some fine performances and multiple eye-catching
goals.
Jordan Alves - a graduate from the John Madejski Academy football performance
programme based in Reading. He appeared for Hartley Wintney and Basingstoke
Town during the 19/20 season. He has also enjoyed a couple of spells with Reading
City and joined the Millers from Thatcham Town ahead of last season.
