Welcome
End of Year Message
End o f Y e a r M e s s a g e
Welcome to the management staff and players from North Leigh for todays home
game, the first at Lodge Road in 2023.
I was bitterly disappointed with the result away at Dorchester over the festive
period where we lost 0-2. Again the performance levels throughout the game were
ok and we were the better side for the lion-share, however the manner in which
we gifted their two goals was hard to take and the lads need to realise that we cant
continue to give teams a goal or two per game where we need to score three goals
to win. We will continue to work hard on our drills and fine tune the basics and once
we do so and maintain our perfomance levels then we will start to win more football
matches.
We need to become ruthless in both boxes.
The management team continue to work tirelessly behind the scenes drumming in
our fundamentals, ensuring the players are able to become more confident/
WELCOME
positive in games and able to express themselves.
Our last home game Vs Merthyr Town was a really good spectacle and we gave an
excellent account of ourselves, where barring another gifted goal when we were
2-1 up in the second half on another day we would come away with a big home
win against a very well drilled competitive side.
We have a good honest bunch of lads that have started to buy into the demands
since we have joined the club six weeks ago, and as long as they adhere to our
requirements, have the hunger and desire needed to fully commit to the cause then
we will continue to climb the table.
We were bottom of the table before we took over in November and we have
produced some excellent performances over the weeks, picking up points to get us
out of the bottom four. Its important we all remain focused on the job in hand,
perfom well today in front of our own supporters win the game and then look
forward to many more enjoyable football days throughout the calendar year!
Happy New Year to all the Yate Town fans who as ever continue to support the
team which has played a vital part in our turn around this last six weeks
