Thoughts
A welcome this evening to the players, coaches and supporters of Almondsbury
Town for our final home game of the season.
Having won the last two games we go into this important fixture in buoyant mood
and hope we can carry the form into tonights game against a team who sit just
above us in the league.
The game is probably given greater emphasis following George McCaffrey’s
comments on the recent podcast where he felt that even a team finishing third from
bottom might be at risk.
I’m not sure I agree with people discussing ‘what ifs’ before the end of the season
as this always tends to be different than what the FA decide, and I’m sure that
things will be no different this season. So let’s just enjoy what’s left of what has felt
a long season and we will worry about the future when it arrives!
Covid-19 still raising it’s ugly head so please use the hand sanitisers, both at our
entrance and in the main bar.
Lets hope for a well contested contest tonightand whatever the score, let’s all
enjoy the game and remember to accept the Referee’s judgement whether we
agree or not, as with-out officials we could not play the game…
As always, hot and cold food, tea’s and coffee are available in the clubhouse so
come and visit me in the kitchen, and, whatever the result, join me for a beer after
the game.
As we always say…. #Up the Phones
