President’s
Thoughts
Welcome to the players, officials and supporters of Radstock Town, who are visiting
‘The Lane’ today.
Like ourselves, Radstock have had a mixed start to the season and they start today
in seventh place, five points above us but having played two more games. They
come into this game following a narrow win over Lebeq and like us they have gone
out of the FA Vase.
We have been beaten in our last two games following a five match unbeaten run
and we will be keen to return to form. It’s true to say that we were beaten by a
very good Chipping Sodbury side in the Vase, but on Wednesday evening a couple
of referee decisions and some individual errors cost us dear. But as always, we learn
from our mistakes and are stronger for them going forward.
Just a quick reminder to utilise the various antiseptic gel stations at the entrance
and in the bar area. Whilst infection figures look to be falling this pandemic is far
from over and we want to make sure everyone is safe.
Lets hope for a well contested contest today and whatever the score, let’s all enjoy
the game and remember to accept the Referee’s judgement whether we agree or
not, as with-out officials we could not play the game...
As we all say #Up the Phones
As always I would love to have a drink with you in the bar, but this weekend I shall
be in London with about 50,000 other people taking part in the Virgin London
Marathon. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who sponsored me,
and to those that haven’t, its not too late, I can collect cash after the event!!
