finish from Frazer Thomas after 83 minutes prove to be the difference
between the two teams.
Harrow were also beaten 1-0 at their own Earlsmead home, by
newly promoted Hanwell Town, for whom this was a third win. A
goal nine minutes from time by Chid Onokwai earned the Geordies
their victory.
Swindon Supermarine and Dorchester Town also both earned
their third wins of the new campaign.
Supermarine beat Metropolitan Police 4-2 at the Webbswood
Stadium. An own goal attributed to Harry Taylor got ‘Marine up and
running on the half-hour mark, and only 8 minutes later, Harry
Williams made it 2-0. Williams went on to complete a first-half hat-
trick in the 42nd and 44th minutes to end a fine half for the hosts.
The Met `won` the second period though with a brace in two
minutes midway through the half from Herson Alves.
Dorchester gained a 1-0 win at Holloways Park against
Beaconsfield Town. A goal from Jordan Ngalo with less than six
minutes remaining earned the Magpies the spoils.
Chesham United beat Gosport Borough 2-1 at The Meadow for
their second win. Dan Wooden put Boro 1-0 in first half injury-time.
But the Generals fought back with goals from Zak Joseph after 63
minutes and Ricardo German on 78 minutes. Gosport’s Harvey
Bradbury was shown a straight red card for dissent in stoppage time.
Bookmakers’ title favourites Hayes & Yeading United can’t quite
get going yet and were held to a 0-0 draw at Hartley Wintney.
Salisbury, beaten at home by Hartley Wintney last Tuesday night,
recovered well to inflict a 4-0 defeat on Yate Town at Lodge Road.
Brandon Goodship’s early 4th-minute opener gave the Whites a great
start and Josh Sommerton doubled that in first half injury-time.
Goodship made it 3-0 with his second of the match in the 74th minute
and he completed his hat-trick six minutes into time added on at the
end of the match.
