ALMONDSBURY F.C.




     1969 Formed as Patchway North End FC and played on Patchway Common in
     Bristol Regional League
     1971 Transferred to Bristol Suburban League, Division 5 finishing runners up &
     winning the GFA Primary Cup. Youth Section formed with one U13 team playing
     in  Bath  &  Bristol  District  League  beating  an  unbeaten  Timsbury  1-0  in  the
     League Cup played at Twerton Park.
     1974 Move ground to Patchway School & rename club to Patchway Old Boys.
     The  U16  Youth  team  form  the  basis  of  a  reserve  team  &  immediately  win
     Division 4 of Suburban League. In subsequent years both the 1  XI & Reserve

     climb their way up the Suburban League; the first team eventually reaching the
     Senior League, now known as Premier League 1 both teams winning honours
     on the way. For a couple years during this period the club play under the name
     of SAC Technology FC in a sponsorship deal, but this only lasts for a couple of
     years.
     1989 The club moves again to its present location at Almondsbury Sports &
     Social Centre and become Almondsbury FC. Eventually the ground becomes
     known as The Field.
     1995 An ‘A’ team formed and following the reserve team 21 years previously
     immediately win Division 4 of the Suburban League.

     1996 Youth Section re-form, initially with one team, expanding over the years
     to seven teams from U10s to U18s.

     2001 Bristol Suburban League Champions

     2004 Gloucestershire County League Champions & accepted into Division 1 of
     Toolstation Western League following necessary ground improvements.
     2009 Partnership with University of West of England (UWE) & club play under
     name of Almondsbury UWE FC. Further ground improvements undertaken –
     floodlights, 2 new stands, improved hospitality facilities. This allowing access
     to both FA Vase & initially Emirates FA Cup competitions.

     2011  Women’s  Section  formed,  starting  in  Gloucestershire  League  but
     eventually gaining promotion to South West League.

     2017 Partnership with UWE ends & club goes back to name of Almondsbury FC
     2018  As  part  of  FA  restructuring  club  removed  from  Toolstation  League  &
     placed in Division 1 (West) of UHL Sports Hellenic League
     2019 As part of FA restructuring club returned to the Toolstation League.
