WELCOME TO SHIREHAMPTON F.C.
Good afternoon and welcome to Wantage FC
SHIREHAMPTON
We have all been looking forward to our first ever FA Vase
game for a while now and we hope today the players rise FOOTBALL CLUB
to the occasion and do themselves and the club proud.
It’s been a tough start but with a little break coming up in President
games we look to start getting injured players returning.
It’s been frustrating for me and I can now tell it’s getting Kelvin Gordon
frustrating for others with how it’s all gone so far, all I can
say is there is light at the end of the tunnel and we’ve built Chairman:
a strong squad this year and we’ve suffered with terrible
luck on the injury front which had de-railed us, but within Pete McCall
3 weeks I plan to have everyone back and then we can petemccall1957@outlook.com
start getting a settled side and producing performance like
we did on the opening day away at Gillingham and getting Secretary & Treasurer:
the results we should do. We have to keep this in the back
of our minds and not let frustrations take over, the easy Mark Stockham
option is to let frustrations boil over but we have to stay markstockham@yahoo.co.uk
together in this moment and come out of it the other side.
Nobody is more angry/frustrated than I currently am at the Assistant Secretary:
moment but what’s getting me through is knowing we have Richard Carey
a strong squad and we will return better. The committee
and supporters and members support has been second to r-carey&sky.com
none during this time and we all want to repay this by
getting some wins under our belts and easing the pressure. Matchday Secretary:
Joe Wheeler and the lads from the reserves who have Nicky Carey
stepped up and helped fill the squad again deserve special
praise and whilst it’s frustrating it’s also been pleasing that
whilst we are struggling the club has all pulled together and Committee Members:
given good support, it’s exactly how it should be and it’s James Loud
pleasing to see.
Sharlie Sollars
Onto today, the pressure is off a little we are up against it Lee Rogers
with injuries, against a team in a higher division who are Tom Donnely
established at the level. We have to find a way somehow to
match Wantage all over the pitch and see where it takes
us, our mentality won’t change we will work hard, we will Bar Manager:
be committed and whatever the outcome when our Alex Warman
opponents leave the field we will want them to know
they’ve been in a game it’s the minimum the players should
give us. Club address:
Penpole Lane,
Richard Brightwell returns today but the other injuries are Shirehampton
still mounting although they are all close to returning over
the coming weeks. Unfortunately Dan Spicer is the latest to Bristol BS11 0EA
be ruled out long term he will be out for the season with an
ACL injury and we are all gutted for him and wish him a Telephone number:
speedy recovery. He will be missed this season as he was
a key player and had just been named vice captain. 0117 235 461
