Brislington 4 Warminster 3 ATT 122

Well that was some game 0-2 down then 2-3 down & a 90th min winner.
Perksy made one change from Saturdays win with Dean Griffiths available a er suspension
coming in for Ben Tucker. Danny Dodimead was available a er injury and was on the
bench.
The 1st 10mins was very much both sides feeling each other out. But just a er that we
came to life Griffiths got round the back of the away side & squared the ball to Macca who
couldn’t get a shot off.
16min later the same combina on nearly forced the 1st goal. Griffiths effort was well
saved but the rebound fell to Macca whose shot crashed of the bar.
We were playing some great football Barwood was having a great game and Tobin was
finding good space on the le . We were knocking the ball about and we’re completely out
playing our visitors.
But on 25mins we were hit on the break the visitors moved the ball quick and the cross
from our right found the striker unmarked to make it 1-0 a er 25mins.
3mins later Griffiths found Macca on the back post but his effort hit the woodwork for the
2nd me in the game.
The away side hit us again straight away and made it 2-0.
We were s ll con nuing to play good football & looking dangerous going forward but
couldn’t create a clear cut chance.
Just before the half me whistle Macca put in a great cross to find Jones at the back post
who finished well to score his 5th in 3 games and make it 1-2 right on HT.
We knew we had played well & the next goal would be crucial. It took us 15mins or so to
going in the 2nd half. On 65mins we won a corner. The ball came in and found White whose
header was perfect 2-2.
We were star ng to push hard looking for the 3rd but on 75mins a similar move from the
away side as the 1st goal put us 2-3 down. Could we come back again. A Definite yes was
the answer.
On 81 mins we were level again sub Dodimead squared the ball to Griffiths who finished
well to make it 3-3.
We were not content with a draw and we’re forcing numerous corners.
As we approached the last minute the hardworking Macca put in a great cross which White
met perfectly with his head to make it 4-3 & give him his 6th goal in 3 games. And spark a
massive celebra on from the pitch & bench.
The ref indicated 5mins of added on me. We s ll had 1 more chance when Dodimead
cured one just wide.
As the final whistle went it was great relief to come back from behind twice to grab 3
massive points and keep pressure on the top 2.
We played some great football and showed real resilience to get the win. Credit to
Warminster who played their part in a good game.
