The County Leagues...
Gloucestershire League
Pucklechurch Sports' hopes of a league and cup double were brought to an end on Sunday when
they were beaten 2-1 by Longwell Green in the semi finals of the Gordon Perrett League Cup.
Longwell, who have finished as runners-up in Division One, produced a fine first half display and after
Mel Pickering had broken forward to slot home the opening goal from Kate Michael's pass, Hayley
Honeywell headed in the second from a corner on the stroke of half time. Adele Hooper pulled one back
for Pucklechurch after the break but Longwell held out to reach the Final for the first time. Just a few
weeks after reaching their first ever major cup final in their long history, Dursley Town have done it
again. Once again their semi final victims were Red Falcon Club and this time the game was an even
closer one, Dursley winning 7-6 on a penalty shootout after a closely fought game had finished goalless.
Newly crowned Division Two champions Bristol Rovers Development completed their
successful season with a 2-2 draw against fourth placed Cirencester Town. Eden Marsh and
Libberty Messenger scored the goals for Cirencester, whilst Lauren Harris and Helena Costa replied
for Rovers.
In Division Three, Whitchurch & Bristol need to win their final game in order to clinch the
title, after they defeated Bristol Ladies Union Development 4-0. Gracie Gammon, Ilarna Nche,
Jessica Nicholls and Sarah Fernando all scored for the leaders to keep matters firmly in their hands.
Second place Bradley Stoke did all they could by beating Mitcheldean SC 5-0, Hollie Shone
bagging a brace whilst Leah Jennings, Alex Thomson and Krista Matthews were also on target.
Downend Flyers Res meanwhile moved into the top three for the first time this season, thanks to a
5-2 victory over Kingswood Women. Michaela Adams netted four times for Downend and Debbie
Small added the other, with Connie Watt and an own goal replying. Olveston Utd Res continue to
finish the season well, they beat Southmead Community Sport 3-1 and Stoke Lane Athletic
scored seven times without reply against Tewkesbury Town.
Greater London League
Bromley FC Ladies are all but Champions of the Premier Division following their 7-0 win away to
Enfield Town 3rds. Terri-Ann Warren scored a hat-trick, with Jade Davenport, Lucy Rix, Olivia
Woolacott and Tanya Holley adding the others. Bromley need one more point to make absolutely sure
but they have a vastly superior goal difference over Clapton Community, who moved up to second
with a 3-1 success away to Regents Park Rangers in which Marta Casanovas (2) and Emily Link
scored.
Actonians Ladies Res are through to the semi finals of the John Greenacre Memorial Trophy
after beating Comets on a penalty shootout, following a 1-1 draw in which Ellie Vaughan was on target
for Comets and Actonians scored through a Sinthujah Sooriyakumar spot kick.
Charlotte Close scored the only goal of the game as Division One South leaders Richmond &
Kew won 1-0 against Premier Division Edgware Town in the Anniversary Trophy. Katie Butts (2),
Kathryn Aylward and Paula Milla were all on the scoresheet as Balham Panthers won 4-2 against
New London Lionesses Development. Sutton Utd U23 and South London Laces meanwhile
battled out a 1-1 draw, goals coming from Natasha Brewin and Laurelle Jordan.
Sheffield & Hallamshire League
Harworth Colliery were crowned Division One Champions after they completed their fixtures with
a 2-0 win over AFC Bentley. Jasmine Blunt, from the penalty spot, and Sophie Thompson netted the
goals which ensured Harworth did not have to endure an anxious wait for their fate to be decided.
Bentley can still finish as runners-up, as can second placed Dronfield Town who slipped to a 3-2
defeat at home to Sheffield Utd Community Foundation. Hannah Barden bagged a hat-trick,
including the late winner, for United, while Carly Gill and Becky Hill scored the home goals. A key
game to the pecking order behind Harworth will be Dronfield’s home clash against Bentley on
Wednesday.
The inevitability of Handsworth Development ending the season as Division Two
champions was finally realised in midweek when they won 5-0 away to Worsbrough Bridge
Athletic to put themselves out of reach of Kiveton Park who are assured of the runners-up spot and
with it promotion. It was lucky 13th (April) for Handsworth with Katie Tattershall (2), Evie Flint, Holly
Jenkins and Liv Winstanley on target to take their league tally to 92 and they have four games left to
reach the century mark. Socrates have all but assured themselves of a third place finish thanks to a
