WELCOME TO SHIREHAMPTON F.C.
Good evening and welcome to Hengroves players, Supporters SHIREHAMPTON
and Committee.
FOOTBALL CLUB
Let’s hope the tides out this evening as we replay a fixture we
were leading 5-2 in upto the 83rd minute. Lady Luck wasn’t with
us on the evening and it typified our start to the season.
President
Moving onto tonight after a very poor second half Saturday Kelvin Gordon
where we chucked a 3-1 lead away, firstly the referee was a
disgrace on the day and if he didn’t have a vendetta against our
football club during the 90 mins then he seriously needs to Chairman:
questions himself. I personally put it down to him having a Pete McCall
grievance about us from a matter towards the end of the season petemccall1957@outlook.com
but whilst he was poor he didn’t cost us the game, he cost us a
point with a terrible penalty decision at the end of the game but
we had already thrown away a 2 goal lead to be drawing 3-3. Secretary & Treasurer:
Poor game management where we rushed the re-start at 3-1 up Mark Stockham
we gave the ball away and we’re punished and then we gave a
silly penalty away where we got too tight in the box and gave markstockham@yahoo.co.uk
the striker the opportunity to go down. We didn’t keep the ball
at all in the second half and again this maybe down to tired legs Assistant Secretary:
but we have to get fitter as lack of legs isn’t an excuse. Players
need to do more in their spare time and they need to attend Richard Carey
training so they can take pride in their performance. At 3-1 up r-carey&sky.com
we should never have given the game away and it still angers
me now. We only have ourselves to blame just like I said to the Matchday Secretary:
players after. Don’t hide behind a terrible refereeing
performance take responsibility ourselves as the buck stops with James Hall
us.
It’s going to be a different season to what we’re used to in my Committee Members:
last 2 years. We have Alfie Robinson, Ellis Bodman, Ben Ford, James Loud
Will Gallagher, Will Baldwin, Charles Rendle, Ollie Saunders, Sharlie Sollars
Eddie Polaine all under 20 and it takes time especially with 8 of
your squad being so young. we’ve replaced experience with Lee Rogers
youth in some areas and we have to live with errors when people Tom Donnely
are young and try and teach them the best way forward. The
likes of Kenway, Fitzy, Morney, Coxy, Bamford, Radford need to
step up and become bigger leaders on the pitch to help this Bar Manager:
talented bunch through games and it’s something I’ll be Alex Warman
demanding from them.
Some good news but also bad news is I’d like to wish Ollie Club address:
Saunders the best of luck, our young goalkeeper has been Penpole Lane,
offered a months contract at Exeter City FC and whilst it’s a big
blow to us it’s an opportunity he couldn’t turn down. If it doesn’t Shirehampton
work Ollie wishes to come back and I’d be happy to take him Bristol BS11 0EA
back so let’s see how this unfolds.
Hopefully we can take responsibility this evening, keep the ball, Telephone number:
keep the legs moving and play to our full potential which will give 0117 235 461
us a good chance of the 3 points
