Joe Cattermole, Midfield, new signing this summer from Mangotsfield utd
playing in the Southern League. Where I saw him play with Sam (Thomas), we
nearly got him last season but it was a few days after the deadline. Already well
known to Beech who moved quickly to get Joe on board, he will add quality to
our midfield and enjoys playing in Beech’s passing style.
Sam Price, Midfield – Former member of our U’18s. Been with the Stags for
5 years, joining from Ashton Utd. Promoted from the Reserves last season,
tireless midfielder with a great work ethic providing an engine in the middle of
the park, capped his first 1 Team goal with a screamer in the FA Vase at
st
Brislington. Went onto score some vital goals last season and possibly the most
improved player of the season.
st
Connor Saunders, Midfield – 1 Team Captain of the squad starting his 7 th
year at the club after signing from Wells City. The only player that seems to
have his life in order, strong in the tackle, does a lot of the dirty work other
don’t want to do & leads by example. Trys to look after his Bro Charlie! Recently
became a Dad, AGAIN, congratulations
Jamie White, Midfield, - Talented and technical ball player, he joined us aged
17 in 2018, made 65 appearances, scoring 6 goals in, 2 out of 3 covid hit
seasons. Having secured a place in the summer at Gloucester University, Jamie
reluctantly moved to Hellenic league Hallen but has saw the light and returned
to the Lancer Scott. No longer the baby of the squad
Harry Walker, Midfield – Signed from Frome Town all the way back in 2015,
ex-Bristol City youth who has represented England Schools. Can play anywhere
on the left hand side also in central midfield, possesses great quality on the ball
and dead ball delivery is spot on. Missed all of 2021/22, recovering from a
broken ankle. Back pre-season training and featuring in the friendlies, will be
like a new signing.
Miles Hardidge, Striker/Midfield –Been with club for 10 seasons, another
to join straight from Ashton Boys. For many years a box to box midfielder with
bags of ability and energy to burn, one of the best technical players in the
squad. Beech saw something in Miles to play him as a striker and was
instrumental in the Team’s improvement in 2022
Jack Sells, Forward, another Beech recruit who had disappeared from the
game, having been on the gaffer’s radar for a long time. highly talented striker
who scored on his debut v Millbrook. Following a very successful spell with
Clevedon Town, Jack moved to Portishead Town. Jack was in great form when
unfortunately he suffered a knee injury away at Buckland and missed the last
6 games and most of this pre-season. We will be looking forward to his return.
